While Fresh works perfectly on a serial terminal connected to my Raspberry Pi 2W @115200, it is very laggy

mcedit, nano, micro for example, on the same platform, are not.

Do I need to set something in settings?

Thanks for the report! Fresh is sending several full repaints per keystroke where most changed nothing. The extra repaints come from background plugin activity (e.g. the live-diff debounce timer) waking the screen even when nothing visible changed.

Fix in #2104 stops those no-op repaints — about 20–30% fewer bytes per keystroke, and cursor moves no longer emit redundant frames. That should make typing noticeably snappier over serial. More serial-specific tuning may follow.
