Not fond of hunting down people to make schedules because no one wants to call or text and everyone has conflicts with everyone else.

I can't describe the joy I get with a meeting request that just has "Discussion with Dylan" and no other contextual information to prepare. I mean, I'm great as coming up with answers on the fly, but some hints would make life so much easier.

Last week, most of the company was on summer break because of reasons.

This week, they are back.

I did not miss the onslaught of constant meetings.

Had a bit of anxiety this morning, so finished migrating Leicmin to SeaORM and shuffled around the Just file targets a little.

Next step is to see about refactoring the templating system. Currently, I'm using the same template system (Minijinja) for everything, including setting down controls, which is proving to be a bit of overhead and a lot of work. Layout out pages just results in rather cumbersome template structure.

I think being able to template the pages is good, and to substitute header stuff like CSS styles, so the current plan is to do a mixture of generating the basic page controls with Maud, wrapping them in a proper HtmlPage class to encapsulate logic, and then pass it over to Minijinja for page-level templating, and then imlement HtmlPage so it can just be returned to let Axum do its thing without as much overhead.

Will it works? No idea, but it should be easier to manage than what I wrote earlier this year.

I love Greater Roadrunners so much, I wrote three novels using them as the primary form of magic for the main character.

Me: I put in an 811 request in for you to flag your services on July 12. I have a crew on the ground and you have not flagged it. According to the ticket system, you indicated there is nothing to flag but I have a service.

Service: (half hour later) I'm sorry. You need to put in an 811 request and wait 2-3 days for it to get flags.

Me: That's the point. You won't flag it because your system says you don't have anything on site. But I've been paying for the service on that site for five years now.

Service: Oh, I'm sorry.

(twenty minutes later)

Service: You need to put in an 811 request and wait 2-3 days.

So many household things are breaking this weekend. Including the dog.

Bah, router firmware replacement plan failed. Had to stick with stock connect-to-cloud services for now.

Today, I need to write, so I'm going to bribe myself that if I finish the 4k minimum words, I can flash OpenWrt onto my home router.

Bah, a usability bug in Leicmin. I have enough of a pattern to identify a common difficult setting it up, so once I get through my monthly obligations, I'm going to add some more instructions/notices/alerts for handling website passwords.

I'm having trouble getting my new grill on a wifi because apparently pellet grill/smokers benefit from that. But I have my tonix network for handling Internet-of-Shit objects, but Orbi is currently refusing to let me log in to debug it.

So I'm seriously considering flashing OpenWrt onto it to get my toxic network working to get my grill working.

Apparently Chrome has side tabs now. And they handle tab groups well.

Blah Child.0 doesn't modulate their voice at night. So they said something to Partner at 03:29 and I'm still awake three hours later.

My work alarm just went off.

Xtink4 PRO was announced. Naturally, the page doesn't say how big it is, so I'm going to assume it is the same four inch screen and too small for my orc-like hands, but wish it wasn't. Though, I'd probably go for the open book from last week if I'm going for a hand-cramping ebook reader I can fit in my pocket.

It does, I didn't scroll down past what I thought was just noise on the page.

So, it has a touch screen (cool) and a front light (very nice). It would make it much easier to read in bed. I have a feeling that it still will choke on my Calibre library and also on my Fedran OPDS feed (though it is much smaller).

Yesterday, Child.* came home from their trip to Minnesota. They immediately scattered to their respective rooms.

On Satisfactory, we switched from modular buildings for the ingots and I made extendable lines of ingot factor above the desert. We are using the Modular Main Bus (MMB), I could have fun just making things that make things instead of fighting with endless belts and pipes.

Also, MMB is probably the main reason we didn't give up at oil power like we did the last seven times. Usually we stop once Child.0 has picked up every Mercer sphere, hard drive, and Sommerslop because they love hunting things. I like Build and Chill, mainly because while Satisfactory is a fun building game, it isn't that fun for exploring for me; there aren't really secrets, just Where's Waldo hunting.

On Palworld, Child.0 moved bases and "gifted" me their old base with 18k ore behind. Even though we both started at the same time in the home instance, they are level forty-something and I'm running at a reasonable thirteen. :D So I have a lot of pals that are level forty-something downgraded to my level. Yet they won't give me a tortise.

But there is something fun about "want to kill a boss with me?" and they go in with a machine gun and blowing everything away while I'm running around with a bow and managed to get two shots while screaming "I'm helpful!" :D

Palworld is another game where I don't really enjoy exploring much. It has places to go, but there aren't secrets. No puzzles to really solve or places that feel special, just pretty places to visit and things that want to kill you.

Now, the really big problem is that Q is build in Satisfactory and throw sphere in Palworld, so I spent a lot of time chucking my precious spheres out because of muscle memory. :D

I always think I want to write an API-first website, but then when I started Leicmin, I went with a no-Javscript site which doesn't exactly work with an API-first architecture.

This is going to be a very busy Thursday:

• The electrician comes in to put outlets for bidets on the rest of the bathrooms. Partner wants a heated tush and water that doesn't come from the artic on the undercarriage.
• My Father's Day gift will be unboxed. We decided to get a pellet grill to replace the propane one we lost in the derecho. It's also a smoker, so there are two new features I'm looking forward to. Mostly because I want jerky that isn't 90% salt because my meat shouldn't hurt me like that.
• The second-to-last part of our porch bench project is supposed to show up.
• The EV charger for the family cabin is also supposed to show up.
• My younger brother is showing up to the family cabin with a gaggle of teenage boys. He plants on trenching a line from the cabin to the garage to electrify it and also get it ready to get the EV charger installed.

Um... we have different ideas of "small".

My obsession of naming my projects in Lojban continues with some new project ideas.

• Leicmin is from klesi (class/category/subgroup/subset) and cmima (member of set)
• My phone is Karsorcul from kalri (portal or passage) and sorcu (store/deposit/supply) though I almost called it Karkalcil for "passage to shit"
