We hear the wildest myths about Career Technical Education (CTE). Let’s stop dancing around the stigma and lay out the actual facts about what happens at WCCC.

1. "WCCC is where you go if you aren't college material, right?"

Wrong. That script is twenty years out of date. Over half of our graduates head straight into two- or four-year degree programs. The only difference between a WCCC student and a traditional high school student is that our grads enter college with concrete skills and a massive head start on their resume.

2. "Is this just a trade school for teenagers?"

No. We run full-scale Adult Education programs, too. Whether you're an 18-year-old looking for a launchpad or an adult completely reinventing your career track, we provide the raw training required to pivot into high-demand, high-paying industries.

3. "If I go to WCCC, do I have to leave my friends and give up my home school?"

Not a chance. You don’t swap identities when you come here. You remain fully connected to your home high school. You can still play on their sports teams, attend their dances, walk at their graduation, and hang out with your friends. WCCC is an upgrade to your education, not an exile from your community.

4. "Are the classes watered down?"

The exact opposite. We offer heavy-hitting academic tracks, including College Credit Plus (CCP) and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. If you want to sweat over rigorous, high-level academics while simultaneously building physical or technical expertise, you’re in the right place.

5. "What do I actually get out of this besides a diploma?"

Real leverage. Our students graduate holding industry-recognized certifications and transferable college credits. While other kids are spending four years collecting nothing but theoretical knowledge, WCCC students are building a dual arsenal of academic credit and certified, bankable skills before they even turn 18.

Our Adult Education programs will prepare you for the most in-demand career fields. We'll help you earn the certifications and credentials you'll need to hone your skills, advance in your field, or change careers all together. We offer full-time programs in:

Adult Education Programs

We offer full-time programs at our Atrium and Main Campuses or elective style classes in all of our partner schools through what we called satellite programs. Students have flexible options to prepare for their futures.

Full-Time Programs

Satellite Programs

High school students typically apply for our programs during their sophomore year. All students must apply and be accepted to attend. Many of our programs fill up, and a lottery is used to award those seats.

• Application window opens in December
• You can complete your application process online.
• Priority is given to student that reside in our CTPD.
• It is NOT a first apply, first accepted system.
