America’s first website 🖥️ That was it. Dating back to 1991 following a visit with Tim Berners Lee, SLAC’s websites were the first in North America and are among the oldest original content available on the Web.

A new view of the COSMOS… 🌌 ...Deep Drilling Field. This is one of the most observed patches of the universe, now captured by @VRubinObs with more than half a million new galaxies and more than 50,000 stars: stanford.io/3TAm4pq
A new NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory image featuring hundreds of thousands of distant galaxies in and around the COSMOS field marks the observatory’s first LSST Camera image and catalog release for science. (NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory/NOIRLab/SLAC/AURA)

More interns, much more interns! Over 200 interns from more than 10 different internship programs are at SLAC this summer. Here are just a few of their photos to celebrate National Intern Day!

A person smiles at the camera in a workspace filled with electronic equipment. A computer screen displays code, and there are various devices, wiring, and a circuit board on the desk. Photos and posters are pinned on the wall behind.

Last but not least... 🏗️ The final of 23 new cryomodules for our #HighEnergy upgrade to the world’s most powerful X-ray laser. Thanks to partner labs @Fermilab and @JLab_News, these can double the accelerator’s electron energy & deliver sharper, atomic-resolution imaging.
