This Il-2 ground attack aircraft, built with parts recovered from a Russian lake, is now on display in the “Jay I. Kislak World War II in the Air” gallery. Heavy armor earned the Ilyushin Il-2 the nickname Flying Tank, and the Soviets produced over 36,000 of them during WWII.
