just shipped native WSL support in claude code desktop - pick your distro from the environment picker, pick a folder, go. your ubuntu, your toolchain, (theoretically) zero duct tape. tell me what breaks!
Claude Code Desktop's environment picker open on the Code tab, showing a new WSL section with an Ubuntu distro selected alongside the existing Local and SSH options.

I'll be running Claude Code Desktop office hours starting this week! if you're building with it and have feature requests, bugs, or just want to talk through what's working and what isn't - grab 15 min with me! calendar.app.google/EtfRZnb41tzP3E…

My longstanding opinion is that a lot of the value of a CS degree is the meta skill of learning to understand/apply technical concepts - why take this from yourself? who benefits? imo if you're thinking this way you....maybe shouldn't be pursuing a CS degree!

Put another way, I'm pretty sure a lot of Computer Science students are using ChatGPT to complete their coding assignments instead of actually doing the assignments themselves. If true, it's a huge problem. The process of learning debugging is critical to growing as an engineer.
