THE REAL PARADOX OF RAISING RATES: interest expense (govt) is also income (savers) $1.3T/yr ($3B/day)-that's income flowing to bondholders But, it's not all in domestic private hands Intragovernmental funds hold ~$7T, Fed remits its share back to UST & ~$8-9T sits overseas
