MCP 2026-07-28 shipped today: no more handshake, no more sessions. That's how static sites already served MCP; the spec just caught up. What changed in my endpoint, why tools/list can now live on the CDN, and how my agent skills now ship over MCP:

For some of the work I’m doing I had to write down where I think websites are headed and what that means for SEO, and since I did, I decided to make a blog post out of it too:

This... Is probably the best explanation of what SEOs call "keyword research". Write in the language your customers use. There is the risk of navelgazing in this, so I would add one thing: talk to 100 or so prospective customers that didn't buy your product yet too.

Every marketing team should do this simple test. At random, ask 100 of your existing customers to describe your product in their own words. No leading the witness. Then look at how you describe your product on your site. Don’t dismiss obvious differences by telling yourself,

When Dries wrote about License-only versus Stewarded Open Source, I knew I had to write a follow-on to that:
Stewarded open source is not enough: who can cut you off?

I wrote about this in the context of hosts, but this is happening everywhere and much more of a problem than people realize: joost.blog/block-the-abus…

Do I know anyone @Zendesk? If so, can someone at ZD explain why their hosted help center blocks Claude with a 403 status code? It makes it harder to have agents figure out how to solve problems with third party products. cc @DanoKwan *please* consider having your team fix this.
