Both 0.3 and 0.30000000000000004 are IEEE 754 approximations, because the exact decimal value 0.3 cannot be represented precisely in binary floating-point.
However, we can emulate ties-to-odd instead ties-to-even rounding mode. Unfortunately, this is quite tricky on JS:
