I just made and ate tacos using plant based meat instead of ground beef (thanks high meat prices!). It wasn't bad, I just hope my stomach doesn't revolt on me here.

I swapped WiFi access points in my house yesterday because it dawned on me that my more powerful AP was in the basement and the smaller one was covering the area that needs WiFi more.

Today my office (now upstairs) is getting speeds up to 8x faster than I was getting. It only took me 3 months of living and working in this room for that to dawn on me, but I got there!

One of the often overlooked parts of being a spouse of an immigrant who has learned your language as their second is how often you're put on the spot to know a specific word out of nowhere. My wife has to realize by now I barely know my one language, yet she asks anyway!

I spent the whole day at the office today. Two long meetings, plus two impromptu meetings just because I was actually there, plus interacting with people all day long really wore me out.

I am pooped.

We watched a movie tonight called "Don't Worry Darling".  It reminds me of a modern Hitchcock movie, which was unexpected (one of his mediocre ones, sure, but still). I enjoyed it.

I had one of the more awesome community experiences of my life tonight.

One of our neighborhood restaurants is closing tonight because their new landlord raised their rent and they couldn't afford it.

My wife and I decided to have that one last time, so I went there to order food and and had to wait in line there for the first time ever. One of the people in line went out to the store while we all waited for food and bought a 12 pack of beer, and he came back and handed beers out to a few of us who were waiting on our food. There were so many people there to support this small business and it basically turned into a block party.

Moments like that give me hope for humanity. Even though the country is going to shit, our communities can still be welcoming places.

How "responsible adult" am I? Me using my credit card at a bar while out with friends on a Friday evening triggered a fraud alert.

Wow am I rusty with my SysAdmin skills. I'm helping out with some internal projects while being between customers and I am taking WAY longer than I used to to set up a new VM....

After work I took advantage of having the house to myself by fixing a toilet, vacuuming, and taking out the garbage. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my free time, but it needed to be done.. M

My night stand I ordered for myself arrived today. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble, and I'm so very happy for that one small change in my room. No more twisting my desk chair around to use as a night stand.

Last week we had the Air Conditioning going and it was insanely hot outside.

Today the AC is off and I'm in sweat pants and a sweatshirt.

It's crazy how quickly seasons change.

I should not have made myself a double amount of coffee this morning. ADHD GO BRRRRRRRR

Oh lovely, we're entering my least favorite "season" of the year: Spooky Season. Time to bury my head in the sand until after Halloween I guess.

I dreamt last night that I was hired to do a NIST assessment of a superhero company, and they liked my work so much they hired me to replace the guy who had been running it. I never got to meet the heroes, but I was working for the company. It was weird.

Well Fediverse, we've made it. The work week (for most of us) is done.

If you have weekends off, I hope you relax and do things you enjoy. If you work on weekends, I hope it's not stressful. Either way, I hope it's amazing.

New rule: Having salsa on my tacos counts as eating fruits and veggies.
