Mhhh... that's tricky. OpenOptionsExt is a stable public trait, that is not fused. So in theory, anyone could implement it for their own types, which would make this a breaking change.

However, this looks very much like a typo bug. And I think it's highly unlikely anyone implemented that trait themselves. So I guess it might be OK merging this as a bugfix. Might warrant a crater run beforehand, though.

Thoughts on this, @rust-lang/libs?

Even if someone did implement this trait themselves, they would just return self, which will continue working even after this change. I think this change is pretty safe to land as a bugfix and I'm not sure a crater run is even needed.

Sure, there is an easy fix, but this change can still break code. But ok, I agree that this is very hypothetical. Let's merge it then:
