Q&A

Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the "town hall" (meta-discussion site) for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

Site not reliable making posting difficult.

After posting several puzzles on Puzzling Stack Exchange they began to introduce intrusive and frequent pop up ads. It was so annoying that I left.

Now on Codidact, I am beginning to experience a similar issue, site reliability. This is so frustrating that I question whether I wish to continue here.

Example 1:

Several times (and on separate days), I have received error messages like the one below while trying to post a puzzle:

Failure to save draft error message

Example 2:

Another error message occurred when I tried to respond in a comment thread:

422 error code

Update:

I logged out, cleared my browser cache/history, and rebooted my iPad. I then logged back in. Unfortunately this did not resolve the problem.

Ironically, I got one of those "Failed to save draft" message while trying to answer one of your questions. The site had been very slow, so I thought it had something to do with bandwidth, timeouts, and the like. I went away for a while and things were better later.

This felt a lot like when the site was a victim of a denial of service attack some months ago. There were some changes made at the time which seemed to have a side effect of messing up your stored data. That eventually seemed to get fixed, but similar problems like this still pop up occasionally.

I'm not web developer, so I can't say what the exact mechanisms are, but this feels similar.
