Ghidra import: "Unhandled platform specification: AARCH64-Little-64" (Nintendo Switch) #8678

Open

Description

@comex

Version and Platform (required):

  • Binary Ninja Version: 6.1.10974-dev (adecb3aa)
  • Edition: Commercial
  • OS: macOS
  • OS Version: 27.0.1 (26A434)
  • CPU Architecture: arm64

Bug Description:
Ghidra projects that were loaded using Ghidra-Switch-Loader fail to import into Binary Ninja: it treats the architecture as x86.

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Use Plugins -> Ghidra -> Open Database, and load switch-examples-time.gzf from the attached archive.
  2. Notice that everything is x86 instead of the expected AArch64.
  3. Also note in the log:
[0:0 Ghidra.Import.Translator debug] Unhandled platform specification: AARCH64-Little-64. Falling back to platform auto-detection.

plus many instances of this (with different addresses):
[10941978045621028488:4204238183603445840 Analysis debug] Added x86 function at 0x59f0

For reference, I created switch-examples-time.gzf in Ghidra as follows:
- Installed Ghidra-Switch-Loader 12.1.2 into Ghidra 12.1.4.
- Imported switch-examples-time.gzf, ran default analysis, then did File -> Export Program to create the .gzf.

Expected Behavior:
It works.

Binary:
switch-examples-time.zip
