Summary

The type Microsoft.Windows.OpenSSH.SSHD/sshd_config should not be valid for the regex ^\w+(\.\w+){0,2}\/\w+$ but is not being checked by DSC. Only two . should be valid in the namespace section to match the documentation of <owner>[.<group>][.<area>]/<name>

@michaeltlombardi I don't think we need to limit the number of areas/sub-areas int he namespace portion?

It was in the original spec, but it shouldn't be a problem to remove the limitation, as it's a backward-compatible change. I can make that edit in the 3.1.0 updates.

Maybe for now, we can have it as <owner>[.<group>][.<area>][.<subarea>]/<name>, where <name> allows for underscore.

Alternatively, we could rename the sshdconfig resource type to: Microsoft.OpenSSH.SSHD/sshd_config, but don't want people to think we own OpenSSH, just the Windows fork.

I take back part of what I said. This resource is intended to be cross-platform, so it doesn't make sense to have Windows in there. So it should be: Microsoft.OpenSSH.SSHD/sshd_config to work directly against the config file. SImilarly, I expect we'll have:

Microsoft.OpenSSH.SSHD/Subsytem

and

Microsoft.OpenSSH.SSHD/Windows <- Windows specific sshd settings

later Microsoft.OpenSSH.SSH/blah

I think the only immediate change is to allow for underscores on the side.
