Description

Hello! I saw the call for testing on http://learn.wordpress.org/ last week. I'm a few days late! But I thought I'd run the site through an A11y checker and the test has flagged 3 ARIA issues with the WordPress admin bar. I recognise the Admin Bar might automatically be pulling in from dot.org... so please let me know if I need to move this feedback elsewhere.

All three errors are:
ARIA role should be appropriate for the element
Ensures role attribute has an appropriate value for the element

The errors are being flagged for the following three links in the admin bar:

  • Search
  • My Account
  • Language Switcher

Please list the steps needed to reproduce or verify the feedback. For example:

  1. Go to learn.wordpress.org
  2. Run the site through an a11y checker. I use the Chrome extension axe DevTools
  3. Review the results

Other information (optional)

I am using a MacBook Pro running Monterey 12.6.1
My browser is Chrome Version 126.0.6478.183 (Official Build) (arm64)

Thanks so much! The site looks great :-)
