NGF adds duplicate status entries for other controllers

Describe the bug
While running this benchmark test, it was discovered that NGF is writing duplicate status entries, instead of just one per controller.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Run the test linked above

Expected behavior
NGF only writes one status per controller
