Blessing # 103

Yes I am cheating!  Although just in respects of posting my blessings. I have been able to find a blessing each day.  I am hoping i will remember to start writing them down each night once I can find an empty notebook. Or I guess I can just make a new file on my computer...Ahh technology! But there is just something about the hand written word. Hmmm, something to think about.

Anyway...

Look who is 3!

Image
My my how time has passed!  It seems only yesterday that I woke up at 5 am thinking I needed to use the bathroom, only to figure out I was having contractions!  We have come a long way.
My baby is now a little girl.
You are so independent!
So tender hearted and loving.
You are a social butterfly who loves to see people and who doesn't know a stranger.
You give the BEST hugs.  I love it how you run into my arms when I come home.
You are my little book worm.
You love to dance and sing and dress up in your Aurora dress.
You love your stuffed Kitty and take her almost everywhere with you.
Rubia is your "sweetheart" and your buddy, hardly ever are you two separated.
You are so much more a girl than a baby or toddler.
I love you!

(This was supposed to be posted on her birthday, but blogger hiccuped or I just did not set it up right.  But better late than never right?)

Runaway (pt1)

We spent some time at Adam's dad's house.

Image
(Thanks Granma)

We played.

Image
(She never really mastered the tricycle. I am sure it was more fun to be pushed)

We did some smoke bombs.

Image
(Naomi Loved it!)

We went to a parade.

Image
(Which was quite impressive and touching since it was a military town)

We went to Adam's grandmothers house.

(where we had to picnic inside because of the rain.)

We celebrated birthdays.

Birthday!

I know her birthday was a while ago.  but I ahave been swamped.  I was blessed to watch 2 little girls while their parents were in China.  It was a bit crazy at times.  I had 3 girls aged 1, 2, and 3.

To start Naomi got to have her first sleep over.  For her second birthday!  Not many can say that.  but here are some highlights from Naomi's birthday...

Grand ma and Grandpa Brooks gave her a new bedding set.  She was so excited she had to try it out immediately!
ImageImage

At the las minute I decided to go with a fish theme for her birthday party.  you will sea why later... But here is my fish cake!  You can't go wrong with M&M's

Image

Good Morning Birthday girl!

Image

This would be why we went with the fish party.  Naomi's "big present from Mama and Daddy was a fish. She was so excited she insisted on having breakfast with the Fish.  All morning long she watched it and would run around saying fishhhhhhhhh, fishhhhhhhhh.  (We did actually name it. the name is Pepe.   Adam named it.  He tried to name it Piscado to go along with our "spaninsh" named dog Rubia.  I refused.  I can only imagine how my 2 year old would pernounce it.)

I am not exactly sure what this look is all about.  She looks like she is up to something though.

Image

As par tof the fish theme, I thought bubbles would be fun!

Image

She opened presents like a pro.  I felt bad because we kind of had to rush through them.  She wanted to play with everything as she opened it.

See?

Over all it was a Beautiful day to celebrate one of the best gifts God has given me.

Randomness

This is a busy time for me. It probably always will be. Lot's of Easter stuff going on. I love Easter! I truly enjoy celebrating the resurrection and the free gift of eternal life which God has given me(us). Please do not think I am complaining. Just being a Youth/administrative pastor now we have more responsibilities and activates now. (Watch for more news on that front.)

I also have Naomi's Birthday to plan and shop for. Thankfully, this year I have a week between Easter and her Birthday (not the one day we had last year). My parents are coming for her Birthday, so I have to do some cleaning. Not to mention I really don't want to be cooped up all day! The weather has been beautiful! So we have been outside a lot.

Image

I have been taking lots of pictures but I cannot make myself find the time to edit them. So I am VERY behind on my pictures. which is sad for me. I have so many really cute ones. Naomi now loves having her picture taken. She sees the camera and starts saying "Eeese!"(cheese) Very cute!

Also training for the 5K at the end of may has taken a chunk of time. But it is good for me, right? I am really not a big fan of running. but this program is set up so that you work your way up to running. We started out running for one minute and then walking for a minute and a half. By the end of 9 weeks we are supposed to be able to run for 30 min.

I am still working on a post about our Weekend to Remember. We had a great time!

But for now I think I am going to go take a nap on this rainy, cool day! Particularly since everyone else is napping!

Back to our vacation...

We saw a lot of Adam's family while we were there. Particularly Scott and Becky and their children. On Monday we saw the boys play baseball.

Image
The catcher is Levi, the one in the out field is Jonah and Scott is the coach!
It's great they let them all be on the same team!
Image
Naomi figured out how a straw works. She had a ton of fun sucking the water up and spitting it out. Thanks aunt Becky for letting my daughter dominate your cup!

Image
Cousin Sari (rhymes with hooray) was able to finagle the cup from Naomi.
She more or less just jabbered at it.

They offered to watch Naomi for Adam's birthday last Thursday (July 9). So of course we took advantage of that.

Cousin Moriah's birthday was on Saturday(July 10). So we spent the day hanging out with them and then we all went out to Rock City for a scavenger hunt.

After the hunt a water fight broke out... No one was safe

Even Sari got wet!

My town!

OK I am going to kill two birds with one stone! My town has (at least) two lakes near by. For my birthday we went to the Elk City Lake. To be exact we really just went to the overlook and then drove around. At the overlook we found a muddy path and decided "why not." The trail was a nice walk, although not too exciting and the sound of heavy machinery kind of ruined the ambiance. Naomi had fun looking at the trees and being on dad's shoulders.

Before I post more pictures from my birthday here are some Lake facts I found

  • The prominent feature of the landscape is the precipitous limestone bluff known as Table Mound. (We did not see this. I guess we will have to go back.
  • The scenic Elk River Hiking Trail comprises fifteen miles from the west edge of the dam to the bridge on Elk River. (Something try some day! Note to self start training now.)
  • Two of the six hiking trails located at Elk City Reservoir are noted for being the first trails in the state of Kansas to receive the National Trails designation.
Image
Once we got back from our little hike we decided to have out picnic at the overlook shelter. It was wonderful. Although by the end of our picnic we had chased off 5 people. We had people drive up, park get out of their car then after 5minutes at most they would get back in the car and leave. We felt kind of bad but oh well.

ImageImage
Also guess who got her first skinned knee? Yep! She did not even cry she just whimpered and put her hand on her knee. then 20 minutes later she got her second and scratched up the first a bit more.
ImageI had a wonderful birthday and Mother's Day! I am so blessed!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Image
That is right it's my birthday! I am now closer to 30 than 20. Not that it is a big deal for me. I figure Birthdays are a way to look at the blessing God has given you in the past year. I have been richly blessed! I am also being richly spoiled. I got to sleep in!Then My husband ordered me to take a bath while he and Naomi ran to get donuts. Later we will head out to the lake. It rained this morning so it will be nice and muddy! I am sure I will have plenty of pictures to post later! Although I may just wait till Monday... I still have Mother's day to get spoiled as well. as well as a trip to see great grandpa! What a wonderful weekend filled with the Lord's blessings!

"And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Easter and Birthday!

Here we go! This last weekend was full of so many blessings. My parents were able to come for the weekend. They were a bit delayed because Oklahoma was burning, but it was worth the wait. I am so glad they were able to visit. They even made the trek Up north to see my Grandfather. It had been quite a while since they had been up there. We celebrated Naomi's First Birthday. I feel very blessed to enjoy this privilege. Many times that day I prayed for Jess and Joel. I can't imagine their pain. I remember them daily and I make sure to take the extra minutes each day to enjoy my little one! We also celebrated our Savior! We drove up to our first church home (JSBC) to visit and show off Naomi. That was such a huge blessing for us. We were invited to have lunch. And some of our good friends were there as well. God just rained His blessings down on us this weekend! I praise Him for all He has given. And now here are the pictures.ImageAt the Zoo
