The Resolutions

I know it's almost the 5th, but I've been mulling around some resolutions so I may as well get them down.

1 - Get to church 3x a month. This is lofty considering the amount of church we've missed this year, but I think it's do-able.

2 - Stick to my diet plan and be 50 lbs lighter by July 4th.

3 - Get involved in a charity that focuses on reducing world hunger.

4 - Start each day by dressing enough that I wouldn't be embarrassed to answer the door. Including fixing my hair. (I'm embarrassed that THIS has to be my goal...)

5 - Teach the dogs to be WALKED rather to WALK ME.

6 - Teach O his letters, d to read more words and Baby C his colors. (later in the year for C...) Also, start baby signs with C.

7 - Spend less money. Go to store less and start keeping track of finances more effectively.

8 - Save enough to fence the remaining 1/3 of the yard.

9 - Paint our boring walls.

10 - Move O into a toddler bed and be a one crib household again. (This will probably be later this year. Why mess with a good thing?)

11 - Consider and attempt potty training for O. Ug. (On the other hand, I can't even remember the last time I only had ONE in diapers!)

I think those sound like good goals. Good luck with them. I still need to write mine down.

Those are great goals! You set high standards!

I'm always afraid to make resolutions because I don't want to break them =(

I actually laughed when I got to #4. There are days when I have to HURRY and shower and dress before BigD gets home from work!

You can do it!!! All of it, I'm sure.

How about this? we tag team potty training. :) I'll send A your way and you can send O my way. :)

Girl, you are ambitious! Kudos to you. I bet you can do it all and then some.

Those are great goals.

We also need to attend church at least semi-regularly, potty train TWO children, and spend less money.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who rarely is dressed before noon! I'm just happy if my hair has been brushed and I'm wearing a bra!
And wow, potty training O is ambitious, good for you! I'm really hoping to have Eli potty trained by two, as well- I think waiting until Addy was "ready" was a big mistake, because now that she's old enough to know when she has to go, she's old enough to just decide she doesn't want to! I'm thinking maybe it's easier to catch 'em when they're young! Let us know how it goes.

Good for you!!!! Those all sound great!

I highly recommend the 'pin collars' for dogs, depending on your breed. I use them with Baci (90lb lab), and rarely have to use it, because he knows I mean business with it on. Once my dogs have reached, say, 5 or so, I use a regular chain walking collar. Good luck, walking rather than being walked is hard!

I'm going to be more involved in hunger charities, too. I'm actually reading a new book on being more generous, and why people are hesitant, by a woman who has done aid work internationally. I'll email you the info if you want, since I can't think of the actual title now, although I can see the cover in my mind. Duh.
