About Us

#TransformingPrimaryHealthCare

Amref Health Africa in Kenya is the country office of Africa’s largest health development organisation, headquartered in Nairobi. Founded in 1957 as the Amref Flying Doctors, our legacy began delivering lifesaving care to remote communities. Today, Amref Kenya leads high-impact, community-driven health programs across all 47 counties, reaching over eight millions each year.

As the organisation’s global hub, Amref Kenya plays a pivotal role in advancing locally led solutions that strengthen health systems and improve lives. We collaborate closely with the Ministry of Health and other key line ministries, including those of Education, Agriculture and Livestock, Environment, Water, Youth, Gender, and Interior, to foster people-centred health systems and address the social and environmental determinants of health through a coordinated, cross-sector approach.
