About Taking Strike

This blog is close to 30 months old, that is 2 and half years old. One blog which has continued through the good and bad times, highs and lows of Indian cricket team and also through the times when Australia continued to lose its aura of a world champion team in both the formats of the game that mattered. This blog was started on Aug 31, 2008 just when India beat Sri Lanka in the ODI series in a disastrous tour. India had lost the test series 1-2 and that was the kick needed to get started with the blog again.

This is my 3rd cricket blog and the longest blog i have ever been associated with. The first ever cricket blog I wrote was in February 2007 in the run up to the World Cup 2007, but that blog got deleted accidentally after 45 posts and I could never recover it back.

The second blog was the Taking Strike blog that begun just after the Indian exit in the world cup and continued till the much anticipated Australian tour. The main highlights of that blog was the day by day analysis of Test series in England, vs Pakistan and again Australia. But Sydney 2008 followed and I quit cricket blogging.

This cricket blog is not so famous with Sri Lankan readers, as I do not like the way they go about playing their cricket. Maul the minnows, maul every one in their backyard and get mauled abroad. Yet their players never stop ranting how good they are.

ANyways this cricket blog is about the Indian cricket and every damn thing -- good or bad about the Indian cricket. I have been following cricket since the age of 7, dating back to  1986 tour of England and since then without the aid of any cricketing site database, i have the result of every game India has played itched in my mind.

In last few days I have been trying to be restraint and not having a negative go at anybody non Indian cricketing entity. I have been successful for most part of it, but somehow Sangakara's face and his rants in the media make me have a swipe at it.

Today, 6 days before the World Cup in India and subcontinent gets kicked for the 3rd time, I have redesigned my entire blog adding new gadgets and subscription options. I hope I am able to cover the World Cup Cricket to the best of my ability and passion. Cricket is my passion and blogging is my way to fuel it. So let me fuel my passion and enjoy this blog without hatred and negativity.
