Besides memories.. I think everyone knows the rest. Memories for me are a big part of my life. Be it good or bad, they help me to learn from the past, and remember where I've been and get me to where I want to be. And so it really peeves me that from time to time, I get so caught up in the pace of things that when I look back at what I've been doing, all I get is a blur. It is times like this that I truly appreciate this place, and for more personal entries, my diary the most. There really isn't anything as therapeutic for the mind and sharpens everything as the way writing and reflecting do.
But in the midst of it all, sometimes it's a luxury that when compared to sleep, can't be afforded. And that's where a brief pause to take joy in the little things make the world of a difference. It's easier said than done and I'll admit to being blinded by other factors many a time, but sometimes.. sometimes when you do see it, the feeling of contentment almost becomes bliss, no matter how fleeting.

Here's a short list of things which made me happy of late:
- My osteospermum seedlings are finally growing properly after a failed first batch and a nearly botched transplant where I accidentally broke of large parts of the roots.
- The turtle which jumped off the balcony and kinda vomited blood isn't dead and is eating again! But it's still afraid to go onto the ramp (not surprising since that was how it and it's less fortunate friend jumped off)
- Ran the longest I've ever ran in my life during out camp run at ECP last friday within a still passable time of abt an hour. And got to eat my macdonald's hotcakes and sausage after that, followed by some nice fruit juice at the lagoon food centre out of the hot sun =D
- Finally found out not just the name, but also the link to the song itself of this national day song which first came out abt 10 years ago but was never made an official theme song. That finally puts an end to my search for it when the tune came floating into my mind last year. It's pretty strange, but it seems like it's only sung in schools. I present the link to My People, My Home. Maybe this will bring back some memories of younger days. haha
And while I was at it, I couldn't resist adding My Singapore Story too:

Life hasn't been too good. But for now, I feel contented.
