Anglo Saxon

is it me, or does no one from the USA brag about being Anglo Saxon. Family members obsess about being "Irish" when in fact they are not genetically. When I point that out they get upset. Its weird. I am a proud ancestor of a seagoing British family the Wilkinson's. One was a captain of one of America's first navel ships the U.S.S United States, but still proclaim they are black Irish. 
Well, I will be in D.C. in February and will be looking into become a proud daughter of the revolution. The Irish did not come to America until after the revolution, and were not welcome by the protestant forefathers. Even my Nordic ancestors did not arrive in the USA until the late 1800s. If you haven not yet have your DNA tested. do it. it has been very enlightening.
