our little man a.k.a. mobster

happy halloween! after combing through catalog after catalog and one website after another looking for a halloween costume for mccoy, we came up with one on our own! so this friday, we went up to the fayetteville square to go trick or treating to debut him as our..."little man"! here he is getting suited up...this little outfit made him look so grown up (maybe all of 12 months old)...in this picture he starts looking like a mobster...and everyone on the square thought that was what we were going for...oh well!
it was such a beautiful day, little windy but just gorgeous!
we also met up with brad, becca and kenzie kloss...

kenzie was dressed as this fabulous southern belle with this great big hat, but the wind kept blowing it off.

when we are out with him, he never smiles too much because he is always looking around...he's very quiet and observant...as soon as we're home, the smiles come out...this one is kind of a smirk with his half wiped off mustache!

we had so much fun this weekend...sometimes it's surreal to realize that we are the parents taking our child to a family event...it's so worth every second!

tulsa road trip

mccoy and i headed to tulsa last week to visit auntie b and check out her new digs...this was our first road trip together as the two of us...he did so good going over and coming back...alittle fussy during the day when we took a lunch break, but he really was the best little trooper...as you can see the wind was a tad bit overwhelming...
mccoy didn't know what to think of the wind...he thinks he likes it but is not quite sure...

okay...so i don't know how it happened, but somehow i failed to take any pictures of her new house...but it is seriously the cutest house and it fits her personality so well...i'll just have to wait until she gets it all decorated to take pictures...i promise, bridget, i'm not a bad sister, and i really do love your house!

four months old

mccoy is 4 months old today and we had so much fun...last month, we went to dairy queen, but this month we decided to bake a cake and mccoy helped out in the kitchen...i'm sure the makers of the "Bumbo" did not intend for it to be used on the kitchen counter, but he can see me better up there and the dogs are not all up in his face...(see below for measurements)

attempt at date night

burt and i tried to go out to eat last friday night with mccoy...we haven't been in over a month and a half, so we went to see what would happen...at first, mccoy was an angel, then he started to scream out of nowhere...when we were about to pack up everything and head out, he decided to pass out...he's so big in this picture...and he still has his tongue sticking out.

i know i am a week behind, but i'm trying to keep up...later, i'll have pictures of mccoy and my trip to tulsa to see autie b and her new house...and also today is his 4 month check up, so we will have stats from that!

i know this is a porcupine on his shirt, but burt and i like to say it is a hedgehog...plus, it makes mccoy laugh when we say it!

we've been struggling with tummy time again lately...so one day after i read our friend, shea and drew's blog, it gave me an idea...mccoy loves to try and watch tv...so during the razorback's game against florida, we tried it out...

it worked pretty well and without all the screaming!

pumpkin head

here's our little pumpkin head...his godmother, mandy gave him this hat, and i have to admit he looks oh so cute in it.we're working on his reaching and grabbing skills, but so far he just loves to lay there and smile at all the animals hanging from his playyard.
we decided to test out the bumbo since mccoy's holding his head up well...
he didn't think this was such a good idea!

his fuzz is starting to grow! this is also another outfit that my mom saved from we were little.

fall weekend

saturday morning, we just played around the house...we had his frog humidifier out to start using it over the weekend and this is the top to it.just some cute baby mccoy pics...

i was so excited about getting to dress mccoy in layers since it is finally chilly here in the mornings!

heading out for a walk in the park...normally, we go to gulley park since it is close to the house, but there was an event held there that morning...so we decided to try out the botanical gardens...that was so neat taking mccoy through each of the gardens...they also had a reading railroad station set up with all these model trains everywhere...it made me excited for mccoy when he gets bigger to get to play with them...after the gardens, we headed to wilson park and walked around it once (i forgot about those hills...and now pushing a stroller up them is worse)...burt and i were definitely feeling very 'fayetteville' that day.
