Pre 3 vs. Post 3

In my opinion, the transition to 3 has been the easiest so far, but a transition nonetheless. There are a few things I would have NEVER...like in a million years...have done before having 3 kids. My how times have changed...

Pre 3: never got help out to my car with groceries
Post 3: always take the help. Whether I have all 3 kids with me or not! Let those high school kids do the lifting. I am too old and too tired! For real. Why did I ever say no???

Pre 3: never used paper plates on a regular basis.
Post 3: use paper plates every meal. Everyday. Not just for the kids either. Jon and I use them too! Seriously, I have been buying them in bulk at Costco. It may be a little wasteful, but at least I am saving water by not running the dishwasher as often...right? We will eventually go back to real plates, but for now, it sure is nice...

Pre 3: never let my baby wear footed sleepers in public.
Post 3: Anna wears footed jammies almost exclusively. Day, night, whenever, where ever. Caroline and Miles NEVER left the house unless they were dressed in "real clothes" but practicality rules this time, people! The sleeper things make the most sense. Obviously. Which is why everyone else has always dressed babies in them. I was just a weirdo on this one.

I am sure their are about a hundred other examples, but I can't think of any more because another post 3 change is that I can't remember ANYTHING! Ha!!

The great thing is that life goes on and everyone survives regardless of what plates they eat off of or what they wear...at least so far... ;)

Ditto on the sleepers! My standards are so much lower with three!! :)

Keeping up with the Madison's said...

These made me laugh out loud and so true- especially the paper plates!!! I agree 2 to 3 was a lot easier then 1 to 2 and when the parents are now outnumbered you got to keep things simple

Just being pregnant with the third I'm guilty of all these! But I will say our grocery store here doesn't give you a choice...they help every single customer out. I'd never had help before. And living somewhere that has lots of 30 degree mornings has definitely made me justify taking both kids to the store in pjs and sweatshirts over :-o. But only before 9am (ish) ;)
