our new little one

our little family grew on may 28, 2011 when durham leahy box entered this world!
he is such a blessing...everything went extremely well! we went in saturday morning, and it was so nice at the hospital because there was hardly anyone there...very calm and relaxing! the only trouble we had was the first epidural did not work exactly, but they quickly got that fixed! then around 3:55, i started to push and at 4:07, durham was born!

weight...7 pounds 6 ounces
length...20 inches

he even scored a perfect 10 on his apgar score...(which i'm still not sure what that means)

the month of may

on mother's day, gracie came up to visit us...we had such a great time on saturday, but sunday turned out to be not so good...at this point in the day, mccoy hadn't drank any of his milk or eaten anything, which was highly unusual...by the 8 that night, we headed to the emergency room because the nurses thought he might be dehydrated...when we were in the waiting room, we noticed he had 4 or 5 huge ulcers on his tongue...it turned out that he had hand, foot, mouth virus...we left there around 1 in the morning...we were all exhausted!
Imagebecause it was a virus, he couldn't take anything besides tylenol with codeine in it...we had to keep him home for a week and this is basically what he looked like all week...he couldn't stand to keep his tongue in his mouth...poor little guy!
Imagethank goodness we were over that! a few weekends later, we headed out to the ballpark where they had set up a makeshift go cart track...area businesses sponsored the cars...

Imageunfortunately, even though it was may it was freezing!

Imagethey even had pit stops

Image38 weeks pregnant...almost there!
Imagechillin in his wagon...his latest obsession is neigh neighs (horses)...we're not sure where this came from, but we just roll with it...he loved watching all of the horse races on tv like the kentucky derby, preakness and belmont races...we even bought him the movie, Secretariat...he will sit and watch the whole thing...screaming "NEIGH NEIGH...NEIGH NEIGH"

april 24th...easter (in july)

back in april, we had a beautiful easter weekend, despite a minor asthma attack...(the beauty about time is that it makes you forget about these trials)...i have never really dressed mccoy in any smock outfit before... i always felt he was "too cool" looking for them...but he has finally grown into some of his cousins hand me downs...i do think he looks rather cute!
