halloween fun times 2012

we had so much fun this year at halloween...and it was our first real taste at how busy the week can get...3 different kiddo parties and two others that we missed...whew! 

here's the boys painting their pumpkin...or mccoy painting it while durham tried to eat the paint!

mccoy wanted to be a superhero...he already had a cape with his initial on it, so i painted a muscle costume...his super power that he always says is, 'I will BOOM you!"

i know i haven't blogged in ages....but today is a new day and also, mccoy's first soccer game as a purple penguin (i know...the name is just so aggressive!) at first, he wasn't quite sure, then he really got into it, and then some other kid kept scoring all of the goals...he was devastated! so after the game, we really worked on his skills!  he even scored past mommy three times...meanwhile, our other little soccer player in the making was either charging the field trying to get in on the action or stealing the plastic cones that marked the boundaries! it was a great day to be outdoors and we look forward to the next several sundays and soccer!

on durham's actual birthday, mccoy and i baked two mini cakes for the boys...since my other camera didn't work for the rest of the cake pictures, we decided to recreate it...

they were so cute eating their cake...what i didn't count on was durham, being covered in icing, deciding he was done with it and crawled all over the kitchen floor, dragging the icing right behind him...i guess it was time to mop the floors anyway!

durham's first birthday!

 (so i wrote this post a month ago, and i was planning on adding more pictures from a different camera but that camera has failed to produce...so here is durham's party over a month ago!)


happy first birthday sweet durham!!!

we actually had his party 10 days ago since we had several family members in town! it was so relaxing just having family, his godparents and nanny at our house to celebrate him!  plus, the weather was absolutely wonderful!

i decided to use golds and oranges with black and cream chevron and polka dots as the decor...with mccoy, i always tend to use teals and greens and oranges, so it was nice to change it up!

i had decided to put pictures of durham's first year everywhere...i started with a clothesline of twine to display a 5x7 of each month...this was so hard picking out just one picture to represent a month, but i loved how they turned out...

i also decided to have a photo booth...i collected all of these funny faces and mustaches...my brother sent me a whole package of stuff off of etsy...unfortunately, we all got so busy talking and having fun that we forgot to take any photos...but i did manage to have my dad take durham and mine's photo before the party started!

i love this sweet guy...such a ham!

these are the pictures i used for their first birthday invitations, 

so they are both about 11 months old 

it's fun to see how different they are!  i can't believe that we are actually having durham's first birthday next week...it's actually 10 days early but family is all in town so it works great this way!  can't wait to post pictures!!!
