Just Gorgeous, Just You, The Great Guardian Makeover 2013

Guardian's Great makeover Event is back for its 6th consecutive year and this year! With the theme Just Gorgeous, Just You, the Great Guardian Makeover is aimed at empowering its customers to discover and achieve a look that brings confidence and satisfaction. The event was held at 1Utama Shopping Centre (Old Wing) ground floor concourse.

Society now is very competitive with both women and men are increasingly aware of the need to look good. Personal grooming is very important in our daily lives as first impressions are very important. I for one am well aware how important personal grooming is but have never bothered to groom myself before leaving the house XD;; I'm not one to dress up as I'll constantly keep checking to make sure my makeup is intact or my shirt buttons are all buttoned... nevertheless... I'm always keen to check out new tips for grooming also also makeup tips for cosplay purposes :P

Over 18 participating brands for the Great Guardian Makeover and each comes with a wide range of products! Participating brands include: L'Oreal paris, Maybelline New York, Alcon, Avene, Blackmores, Bio Essence, Brands, Enchanteur, Guardian, Hada Labo, Neutrogena, NH Detoxlim, Nutox, Nivea, O'slee, Palmers, ROC and Safi. The opening ceremony started with an opening gambit of 3 dancers interpreting Guardian's theme of transformation.

From a plain Jane to a beautiful butterfly. Guardian aims at empowering their customers to be beautiful on the inside and outside.

Before the launch, 10 lucky Guardian Facebook fans were selected to undergo a transformation with Guardian's guidance. They received an instant makeover and wowed the crowd with a mini catwalk show during the launch. Kudos to the makeup artists and hair stylists from A Cut Above academy!

More than 1000 ladies including men turned up for the Guardian's Great Makeover event where they were treated to great bargains of beauty products while enjoying a makeover at the same time. Participants get to enjoy a makeover session by professional makeup artists from A Cut Above Academy. Once the makeup was completed, participants can get their picture taken and bring home their pictures in an exclusively designed frame for free

I tried out the makeover and I can tell you, the artists were so talented!! >w< I loved what the makeup and hair stylist did for me <3 It's one of the best makeovers I've had so far :3 Don't be shocked at my before and after photo ya haha

Loved what they did to my eyes! <3 Sexy~~~~ :D The eye makeup lasted throughout the whole day without creasing or smudging! :D

Brought home Avene's gentle toner (RM62+, normal price was almost RM80!) and also Maybelline's Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze shade. I went to 3 other pharmacies nearby my office and the Color Tattoo eyeshadow aisle was cleaned out! Definitely gotta give it a try soon hehe :D

OB for Shu Uemura x Plusizekitten Event

Imagine how happy I was when I got the invite to Tammy's event together with Shu Uemura! Have been so horribly emo and moody, I just needed to go somewhere and destress >_<. When I saw Tammy's event, I knew by hook or crook I HAD to get my ass there. The last Shu Uemura x Plusizekitten event I attended was the Tsumori Chisato Xmas party and it was such a blast! Thank you Tammy for having me at your event \T__T/

The best part was, it's a dress up event!!! *_* I've been so cosplay deprived due to a few setbacks so this event was a good excuse for me to dress up! *_*b. Try and guess which princess I dressed up as! :D

Each year, Shu Uemura collaborates with a young and upcoming Japanese artist to come up with a limited edition collection that is sure to charm the Shu Fanatics. This year they've collaborated with a young Japanese artist, OB and launched a dreamy and magical collection that revolves around 4 princesses to help aid your skin concerns.

Reached there a bit late and my hands were kinda full so didn't snap much pictures T__T. It was great meeting new people :D and some familiar faces. Gods its been ages since I've been to a blog related event.

After that, attendees were free to mingle around and play with the testers. Shu Uemura has specially provided brand new brushes for the event so we got to use clean brushes *w*. I ended up using my own fingers LOL. Didn't really play around that much as I had already did my own makeup before heading to the event.

Attendees also got the chance to decorate their own canvas bag based on the OB collection using acrylic paint. The bags can be taken home and used. I myself know am a failure in art since I started school so I stayed away from the paints XD;;

There was also a competition going on during the event, awards were out for grabs for the Best Dressed OB Princess and Most Creative Artist.

Alicia won Best Dressed OB princess :D She sew her own costume just for the event! Definitely deserved the prize :D

There was an extra award for the Best Effort, went to this lucky lady here :) Love what she did to her eyes. The sparkle effect reminds me of Glinda's makeup from Oz

Tadah! Decided to go as the Cherry Blossom princess as the its almost the Sakura season in Japan. Also... mainly because I only have a pink wig *gets smacked*. Yukata and obi were from Onini, additional props were bought from here and there haha.

Everyone went home with a goodie bag and I was surprised when I found out inside the goodie bag was a Limited Edition 24k Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler!!!!! OMG Thank you Shu Uemura for the generous gift!!!! and thank you again Tammy for having me there!!!! Will definitely use the Rm20 voucher to get the Ocean Bead mini eyelashes and the cute Sakura Custom Case Duo Eyeshadow.

My First Sigma Haul!!!

Finally oh finally!!!!! I've been hearing so much about Sigma back in 2010 but the price... omg the price.... As a student, it was waaaay out of my budget and also there were barely any lowyat sprees ordering from Sigma's site. So I continue to read up on all the spazzing and how the quality was on par with MAC brushes. Now after 2 years, I can finally strike it off my wish list :D

Few weeks ago, I came across Luxola, the first online luxury cosmetic and skincare site in South East Asia. They bring in a selection of exclusive products from the most sought out brands! You can spot some popular brands like Beauty Blender, Korress, Sleek Makeup and Sigma which are quite difficult for us Malaysians to get our hands on. The best part is, they ship from Singapore!!! which is a lot less to worry about :D Delivery time is quite fast too between 2-8 business days. As for Sigma, if you do monitor the pricelist in MYR, it's a hell lot cheaper compared to the prices on lowyat forums! :D

Luxola had a sweet deal whereby there's a free gift for pruchase of Sigma products above RM125. Plus that sweet deal I bought from Living Social hehehe I immediately placed my order together with May's :D

OnlyBeauty - Your One Stop Freebie Site

Oh yes you saw that right, FREEBIES. I've always love the idea 'Try Before You Buy' that was implemented by Kiehl's whereby customers can take home samples of the product for a proper trial before buying the full size product. It makes the customer feel good when they invest in a full size product knowing that it will definitely give results!

After I was introduced to Kiehl's concept, I started looking for samples to try before buying the full size product as I had very sensitive and acne prone skin :D Unfortunately not many brands carry the same ritual. Either the brand doesn't carry samples or suffer under the scrutiny of the salesperson for the next 15 minutes if you request for one >_<. Others would use the samples as an extra bonus for their customers if they purchase anything. I mostly get the scrutinized.... can't help it if I don't doll myself in skin tight clothes and heels when I visit the counter =_=. Feel paiseh asking for sample when they give me that look ;__; but I don't want to pay RMXX and not get the results I want.......

Beauty Expo 2012

Now in its 12 year and going from strength to strength with outstanding participation from experts of the industry, the Beauty12 Expo was held from 28th Sept to 1st October in Kuala Lumpur. Founded in 2001, Beauty Expo was the first professional beauty trade exhibition to be held in Malaysia. Covering a top-notch selection of beauty, business, education, trends and industrial competitions over the pas 11 years, this exhibition has transcended to the most important networking platform for leaders from Beauty, Hair and Nail Industry in the Southeast Asia. Beauty12 Expo Covers 10,000 square metres of space, representing 500 exhibits from 23 countries.

Every year the expo brings in exhibitors from the entire spectrum from the beauty industry. This year, the exhibit zones are divided into 5 areas namely:

1. Beauty Salon Spa & Wellness
2. Hair Products & Equipment
3. Nail Products & Tools
4. Packaging, Contract Manufacturing & Private Labeling
5. Makeup & Education.

The exhibition was opened to public on a weekday with an entry fee of RM15. Believe me girls, this is one of the most worth exhibitions to go to stock up on your beauty items. I normally go to these expo's to stock up on makeup, brushes and also masks :D. Even makeup cases are cheap hehehe, I got my makeup box from the expo a few years back for about RM60 *_*V. Not only that, the expo is a good chance for you to go and see what's new in the market, keep yourself updated with the latest trends :D

The expo features a variety of seminars and competitions covering all beauty aspects. I was there to cover the Kimarie Hairdressing & Academy of Makeup show. Many thanks to Tammy for that!

Beautiful show put together! =) I really regret not having a better camera to snap better pictures x_X. The runway was quite far *sobs* The competition shall be posted in the next entry but just to share with you some photos I took of the expo.

Didn't buy much this time since the Eclat D'or masks were way beyond my budget! They test the mask on half of my face and I loved the result! >.<. Total in that picture itself is already RM138 *sobs*
