This week I experimented with iPhone apps. Here are two images taken using the Hispanatic app. It really feels good getting back to doing still life images. I truly love still life. Anything else is extra.
Today I decided to put away the things used in the Tea Time setup and there, right in front of me, was another image. I stopped the cleanup, put-away project and grabbed my camera.
Please come in, put your feet up, make yourself comfortable and have a cup of tea, or coffee. Welcome to my happy space.
When working on images, I like to do several versions then wait over night, or for a few days, before making choices. Sometimes that results in "back to the drawing board." And...there's nothing wrong with that! :-)
As promised, here is my estate sale find (the tea caddy) with fresh hydrangeas and a handleless Canton cup. While doing research on Canton china, I learned that George Washington loved blue and white Canton. How about that?
The study of light and color is a lifelong process. Yesterday's grapes are still in process. Today I think I will let this image stand as is. Different monitors will have an effect on what is seen online. The proof is in the printed proof. That's the bottom line.
Am researching pieces again. This is one of my favoriite things to do.
BUDDHA
This Buddha is made from red clay. In doing research, I learned that these pieces were first made in the 8th century. The age of this piece is unknown.
Ooooops, entered a duplicate image taken the other day...Here is the view I wanted to share:
Am behind with my shooting. I need to do a setup using Canton (Chinese Export China) and also a variety of musical instruments. Went to a fabulous estate sale on Thursday and saw some of the most wonderful things, i.e. ten exceptional, high-quality Wyeth prints (one signed), Picasso and more. Lots of Oriental pieces. Found a super Metropolitan Museum of Art reproduction bronze most likely from the 1970s (Isis). It was an exciting day filled with wonder and amazement. Oh, how I love going on "the hunt" for interesting and unusual pieces.
