Well Folks... He Did It!

Trump is following in the footsteps of other Republicans who fought the so-called “Glorious Little War” tradition:
  • Grenada (1983): President Reagan
  • Panama (1989): President George H.W. Bush
  • Iraq (2003): President George W. Bush
  • Haiti (2004): President George W. Bush
  • Venezuela (2026): Donald J. Trump
Notice a trend here? They are all Republicans. All notified Congress or were approved beforehand—except one. And he has until January 5 (48 hours from the start of the operation) to submit the formal War Powers report to Congress.

In case you haven't heard:

President Donald Trump claimed overnight that the United States carried out airstrikes in Venezuela and captured President Nicolás Maduro, following a series of explosions and fires reported around Caracas in the early hours of the morning.

In a post on Truth Social published early Saturday morning, Trump said the U.S. had "successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro," adding that Maduro and his wife had been captured and flown out of the country. Trump said the operation was conducted "in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement" and announced a news conference for 11 a.m.EST at Mar-a-Lago.
I would like to point out that the War Powers Resolution doesn’t say anything about declaring war—it refers to the “use of U.S. armed forces.” So all of Trump’s muttering about “police actions” is irrelevant.
The Venezuelan government swiftly accused the United States of launching what it called a "grave military aggression" against the country. In a statement posted on Telegram, the government said U.S. forces targeted civilian and military locations in Caracas as well as in the nearby states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira, calling the alleged attack a "flagrant violation" of the United Nations Charter.
Trump just gives them the middle finger salute!

Reactions around the world have been mixed!

While various Latin American governments oppose Maduro and say he stole the 2024 election, direct U.S. action revives painful memories of past interventions and is generally strongly opposed by governments and populations in the region.

The Venezuelan government on Saturday demanded "immediate proof of life" of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores after the US announced he had been captured and taken out of the country. Sam Jones, who is the Madrid correspondent for the Guardian, has shared a longer statement from the Spanish foreign ministry:
Spain calls for de-escalation and moderation, and for action to be conducted in accordance with international law and the principles of the UN charter.

In this regard, Spain is prepared to offer its good offices to achieve a peaceful and negotiated solution to the current crisis.

Spain reiterates that it has not recognised the results of the 28 July 2024 elections and has always supported initiatives to achieve a democratic solution for Venezuela. It also reiterates that it has welcomed, and will continue to welcome, tens of thousands of Venezuelans who have had to leave their country for political reasons and that it is prepared to assist in the search for a democratic, negotiated, and peaceful solution for the country.
We just created a "Pearl Harbor" for them. We created their own 911 and we took the part of the terrorists.

Columbia according to Columbia Reports:
Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro called for emergency meets of the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of American States (OAS) after the United States apparently carried out air strikes in Venezuela.

“The Government of Colombia rejects any unilateral military action that could worsen the situation” in Venezuela ‘or put the civilian population at risk,’ the president added.
Brazil (Lula da Silva): President Lula had offered to mediate just days ago to prevent a "fratricidal war." Today, his administration is reportedly horrified, calling the strike a "dangerous precedent for the world." He has explicitly questioned the "hidden interests" (oil and minerals) and noted that South America is once again being "haunted" by a foreign power.

Mexico (Claudia Sheinbaum): President Sheinbaum has consistently called on the UN to "assume its role to prevent bloodshed." Today, Mexico is reiterating its rejection of "foreign interference," even though Sheinbaum herself has been a critic of Maduro's 2024 election results. In a series of posts on social media platform X, Petro said “they have attacked Venezuela.”

But not only did Trump attack the place and captured President Nicolás Maduro but he also attach the Mausoleum of Hugo Chávez for spite and to embarrass them. It had no military significance; it is the most symbolic site in the country for the ruling party.

The justification that Trump is using... U.S. Department of Justices reported that,

The Anti-Midas

That is what Trump is, everything he touches turns to garbage! He is the Anti-Midas!
It isn't just the Kennedy Center's reputation that's collapsing — ticket sales and broadcast views are down significantly.
The Advocate

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., was once considered one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the nation. Now it's half-empty.

Before Donald Trump's second term, the Kennedy Center presented over 2,000 events each year, making it the nation's busiest performing arts center. It is the official home of the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington National Opera, and in recent years, it had been host to family-friendly drag shows and LGBTQ+ Pride events.

The center's 2026 schedule is looking emptier now that Trump has banned any act related to the queer community, and as musicians continue canceling their performances in protest. Though it isn't just the Center's reputation that's collapsing — ticket sales and broadcast views are down significantly this year compared to those under the Biden administration.

Trump claims he's shaking things up in the name of saving the center, but in reality, his decisions are destroying it. Here's everything he's done so far.
But that isn't the only thing that has gone to the dogs!

Trump has had failed businesses, let me count the times!
  • Trump Taj Mahal (Atlantic City casino) – 1991
  • Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino – 1992
  • Trump Castle / Trump Marina – 1992
  • Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts – 2004
  • Trump Entertainment Resorts – 2009
  • Trump Entertainment Resorts (again) – 2014 (part of ongoing restructuring and closures)
  • Trump Shuttle / Trump Airlines – Airline venture that defaulted and was sold by 1992.Trump University – Closed amid lawsuits; Trump settled for $25 M.
  • Trump Vodka – Discontinued due to poor sales.
  • Trump Mortgage – Folded within about 18 months.
  • Trump Steaks – Retail food brand that quickly failed.
  • GoTrump.com – Luxury travel website that shut down.
  • Trump Magazine – Magazine venture that closed.
  • Trump Ice (bottled water) – Brand discontinued after limited distribution.
  • Trump Network (MLM vitamins/health) – Failed multi‑level marketing business.
  • Abandoned projects: e.g., Trump Tower Tampa never built, Trump Ocean Resort Baja abandoned before completion.
And now he  is about to add the Kennedy Center to the list of projects that turned to lead. And just think this clown is the president!

Pardon?

By pardon, I mean pardon like not doing time — like a get-out-of-jail-free card! Or, with Trump, it might cost an arm and a leg.

The governor of Colorado laughed off Trump’s pardon of the former Mesa County, Colorado clerk, who was convicted on state charges, not federal. So now, Trump seeks revenge.

President Donald Trump signed a formal pardon for Tina Peters, according to Peter Ticktin, her Florida-based attorney, who shared the pardon document with Newsline on Friday.

The document, which appears to be dated Dec. 5, says it grants “a full and unconditional pardon” for “those offenses she has or may have committed or taken part in related to election integrity and security during the period January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021.”

The pardon applies to Peters’ conviction on state charges, Ticktin said. The charges related to Peters’ role in a 2021 security breach when she was the Mesa County clerk.

Presidential pardons have universally been understood to apply only to federal crimes, not state crimes. Reports about Trump’s claim to have pardoned Peters, announced on social media Thursday, characterized it as empty or “symbolic.”

President Trump used his veto power this week for the first time since returning to the White House, rejecting a pair of bipartisan bills designed to make it easier to build a water pipeline in Colorado and give a Native American tribe more control over a portion of the Everglades.

Mr. Trump vetoed the two bills on Monday, the White House announced on X, after they were sent to his desk earlier this month. The bills had backers in both parties, and they passed the House and Senate through voice votes. Both houses of Congress would need to pass the bills again by a two-thirds margin to override the president's veto.
Here is what he vetoed, one would have given land back to the indigenous people of Florida but Trump vetoed it saying,
But in a message to Congress on Tuesday, Mr. Trump said the project benefits "special interests" — and accused the tribe of not cooperating with his immigration policies.

He wrote that "despite seeking funding and special treatment from the Federal Government, the Miccosukee Tribe has actively sought to obstruct reasonable immigration policies that the American people decisively voted for when I was elected."
You don't cross Trump!
Earlier this year, the tribe joined a lawsuit challenging an immigration detention center in the Everglades that state and federal officials refer to as "Alligator Alcatraz." The tribe has argued the facility could hurt the surrounding environment, impacting the tribe's ability to hunt and hold ceremonies on the land.
The other bill he voted was just to socket it to Colorado after ignoring his pardon,
The other piece of legislation that faced a presidential veto this week was the Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act. That bill was aimed at completing a long-planned water pipeline that could serve some 50,000 people in southeastern Colorado.

[...]

Mr. Trump said he vetoed the bill as part of a broader push to cut "taxpayer handouts." He pointed to the pipeline's expected price tag — the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation estimated in 2023 it would cost about $1.4 billion, double the projected price seven years earlier.
And get a load of this, Trump bragged that it is political!
The president in an interview blasted Colorado’s governor when asked why he vetoed a water project.

President Donald Trump told POLITICO on Wednesday that he vetoed a bipartisan bill to fund a Colorado water project because he views it as a waste of taxpayer money, saying residents are leaving the state under Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis.

“They’re wasting a lot of money and people are leaving the state. They’re leaving the state in droves. Bad governor,” Trump said in an exclusive phone interview with POLITICO.

Trump’s veto comes amid a broader feud with Polis. The president has repeatedly criticized the governor over the case of Tina Peters, a former Colorado county clerk serving a nine-year sentence after she was convicted of state charges for allowing unauthorized access to voting machines. Peters, like Trump, has spread conspiracy theories about Trump’s 2020 electoral loss.
The state committed a cardinal sin and Trump wants his pound of flesh!
The administration has also denied recent disaster declaration requests from Colorado following wildfires and flooding in December, a move the White House insists is not politically motivated.

“It’s very disappointing that the President is hurting rural Colorado by vetoing this bipartisan and non-controversial bill … we’ll continue to fight for this extremely worthy and important project,” Polis said in a statement. Colorado lawmakers also blasted the veto as punitive.
Don't turn your back on Trump because he will get you in the end.

Stress Test

[Editorial]

It is a stress test of our government!

The tearing down of the East Wing — Trump says his billionaire friends are paying for it! But…
  • There are no records of them actually paying.
  • There are no records of the GSA having any information about the demolition or construction of the Ballroom.
  • There are no records from the National Park Service, which oversees the White House because it is a national historic landmark.
  • There are no publicly available paper trails — no invoices, contracts, or payment records for the construction.
  • What does exist are public verbal assurances from Trump that “private donors will pay.”
  • What does exist are lawmakers explicitly complaining about the lack of documentation.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t trust Trump. As President Reagan said about the SALT treaties: “Trust, but verify!”

The bombing of the “drug boats” — Trump says “trust me” but offers no evidence! This pattern isn’t unique to Trump; other presidents have pushed the envelope, but Trump has turned it into an art form.

Trump seized tankers on the open seas saying, “Trust me!”
Trump bombed Venezuelan facilities saying, “Trust me! It is a drug port.”
Trump attacked targets in Nigeria claiming they were counterterrorism camps, saying, “Trust me!”
The War Powers Act requires the President to notify Congress within 48 hours of using U.S. armed forces… yet again, Trump says, “Trust me!”

The fallout is that Trump is normalizing it, amplifying it, and setting a precedent for future presidents. Congress has to act! This year is our chance: the whole House is up for reelection, and one-third of the Senate. We need to take back Congress!

It Was Bad Before, But...

Now it is a quagmire, a bottom swamp.

People were calling for the release of the Epstein File and Congress passed a law release them by the 19th!

But as usual Trump & Company ignores the laws... trying to wiggle out of the release! Oh we are going to drag them out for weeks! Um... the law said all! Not dribbling them out!
Khanna and Massie's remarks came after Sen. Tim Kaine said that Congress has other mechanisms to force the release of additional Epstein files.

Reps. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., and Thomas Massie, R-Ky., on Sunday said they are committed to holding Justice Department officials accountable for their failure to release all eligible Epstein files by Friday’s deadline, saying they're speaking with members of Congress about holding Attorney General Pam Bondi in contempt.

"The quickest way, and I think most expeditious way, to get justice for these victims, is to bring inherent contempt against Pam Bondi," Massie told CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday when asked about how Congress can force the Justice Department to release the rest of the files they have related to Jeffrey Epstein.
To say that many in Congress are pissed is an understatement!
On Friday, the department released thousands of files, but not all the documents Khanna and Massie expected, leading to widespread condemnation of the Justice Department on both sides of the aisle.

Khanna told CNN on Friday that, “Congress is talking about possible impeachment. They’re talking about inherent contempt for the attorney general or deputy attorney general."

The California congressman added, “Any Justice Department official who has obstructed justice could face prosecution in this administration or a future administration."
But it goes even deeper then not releasing all of the files.
A lot of information that would help the public understand the case is still under wraps.

The Justice Department’s long-awaited release Friday of documents related to the federal government’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein was perhaps most notable for what it lacked.

Financial records, internal memos from prosecutors who investigated Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking ring, key material obtained from the searches of Epstein’s palatial homes — none of it figured prominently in the documents released Friday.

Interested in records that would help explain how Epstein grew so wealthy? None to be found.

Want to read emails from federal prosecutors deciding who to charge — and, equally importantly, who not to charge — during their 2019 investigation? You’re out of luck.

[...]

The department was obligated by law to release the entire universe of documents related to Epstein, the late convicted sex offender, and Maxwell, who was convicted of aiding and participating in his sex-trafficking ring, by Friday. The tranche made public represented only a fraction of the total material, which the government has said exceeds 300 gigabytes worth of data and physical evidence.
Some estimate are that only ten percent of the files were released! And even more disturbing are the missing photos!

At least 16 files disappeared from the Justice Department’s public webpage for documents related to Jeffrey Epstein — including a photograph showing President Donald Trump — less than a day after they were posted, with no explanation from the government and no notice to the public.

The missing files, which were available Friday and no longer accessible by Saturday, included images of paintings depicting nude women, and one showing a series of photographs along a credenza and in drawers. In that image, inside a drawer among other photos, was a photograph of Trump, alongside Epstein, Melania Trump and Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Justice Department didn’t answer questions Saturday about why the files disappeared but said in a post on X that “photos and other materials will continue being reviewed and redacted consistent with the law in an abundance of caution as we receive additional information.”
Trump & Company has really pissed off both sides of Congress buy not releasing all of the files and photos. I don't think that they could have bungled it even more then they did.

They made the Department of Justice a Trump stooge proving that they are no longer an independent and separate from the White House.
Despite a Friday deadline set by Congress to make everything public, the Justice Department said it plans to release records on a rolling basis. It blamed the delay on the time-consuming process of obscuring survivors’ names and other identifying information. The department has not given any notice when more records might arrive.
You want to be that they will drag this out for as long as the can... just dribbled and drabs!

Then we have Trump & Family milking the U.S. for all it is worth!

The Trump business empire’s expansion into nuclear fusion is alarming ethics experts, who warn it poses glaring conflicts of interest and risks the federal government playing favorites in what could be the holy grail of clean energy.

Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) shocked Wall Street last week by arranging a $6 billion marriage with TAE Technologies, a Google-backed company at the leading edge of fusion energy.

The merger means that soon, President Donald Trump will simultaneously have a major financial interest in a company whose fortunes will be influenced by the actions of a government that Trump himself presides over.

Nuclear fusion companies are regulated by the federal government and will likely need Uncle Sam’s deep research and even deeper pockets to become commercially viable. The merger needs to be approved by federal regulators – some of whom were nominated by Trump.

“There is a clear conflict of interest here,” Richard Painter, the top ethics official under former President George W. Bush, told CNN in a phone interview. “Every other president since the Civil War has divested from business interests that would conflict with official duties. President Trump has done the opposite.”

[...]

For instance, he said the secretary of energy would have to recuse him or herself from any matter linked to fusion if they simultaneously had a significant stake in a fusion company.

“It’s only legal because the criminal conflict of interest statute does not apply to the president,” Painter said, adding that while it is “technically legal” he doesn’t believe presidents should be excluded from the law.
Of course Congress is not going to do a darn thing! They are afraid of the wrath of Trump.
Rep. Don Beyer, a Democrat from Virginia who co-chairs the House Fusion Energy Caucus, told CNN in a phone interview that he was “stunned” by the Trump Media deal.

“I hate the thought of a president who puts his name on the Kennedy Center putting his foot on the scale of who the winners and losers are in fusion energy,” Beyer said.

Beyer said he has been “encouraged” by the Energy Department’s support for fusion energy and is pleased to have a president supportive of the industry.
The Trumps and the cronies all have a piece of the pie while the American people get the shaft.

The Trump administration escalated pressure on the Smithsonian this week, threatening to withhold federal funds if it does not submit extensive documentation for a sweeping content review. President Donald Trump earlier this year set out to purge what he called “improper ideology” from the nation’s most prestigious museum system, efforts that are expected to intensify as his administration tries to shape the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations next year.
He wants to whitewash the Smithsonian! If you remember back in the summer Trump was ranting that the Smithsonian was WOKE! Back in August,
The Trump administration has ordered eight Smithsonian museums to make its exhibits more "unifying" before the nation celebrates its 250th birthday in Washington next year

NEED TO KNOW
  • Donald Trump's White House sent a letter to the Smithsonian this week, directing the institution to ensure its museums align with the president's vision, according to The Wall Street Journal
  • Eight Smithsonian museums have been directed to thoroughly review and update their exhibitions, internal communications, featured artists and more
  • The directive comes with a deadline, as the Trump administration readies its plans for America's 250th anniversary next year
The White House continued its cultural crackdown on the Smithsonian this week, pressuring the institution to review its exhibits and operations and align them with President Donald Trump's view of American history.

On Tuesday, Aug. 12, The Wall Street Journal reported on a letter that was sent by three top White House officials to Smithsonian secretary Lonnie Bunch. According to the outlet, the letter followed up on the directive laid out in Trump's March 27 executive order, titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History," which targeted the Smithsonian museums by name.

The executive order read, in part, "Once widely respected as a symbol of American excellence and a global icon of cultural achievement, the Smithsonian Institution has, in recent years, come under the influence of a divisive, race-centered ideology. This shift has promoted narratives that portray American and Western values as inherently harmful and oppressive."
So now Trump is getting antsy so he is tightening on the screws, threatening to cut funding! The Smithsonian is having none of that;
The Smithsonian was diplomatic in its reply to the White House letter, saying, “The Smithsonian’s work is grounded in a deep commitment to scholarly excellence, rigorous research, and the accurate, factual presentation of history. We are reviewing the letter with this commitment in mind and will continue to collaborate constructively with the White House, Congress, and our governing Board of Regents.”

However, The Wall Street Journal spoke with historians who fear that the president's vendetta against so-called "diversity, equity and inclusion" initiatives may have a negative impact on the Smithsonian's ability to give a comprehensive look at U.S. history.

“The Smithsonian museums have never reflected one person’s view, or even one administration’s view,” Harvard history professor Tiya Miles told the outlet. “They have reflected the composite research, analysis, discussion, findings of many different people, scholars and researchers.”
It doesn't take much of an imagination to guess what is coming:
  1. Trump will cut funding,
  2. Smithsonian sues,
  3. Courts find in favor of the Smithsonian,
  4. Case goes tot he Supreme Court,
  5. Supreme Court finds in favor of the Smithsonian.
You know this is how it will play out!

No matter how you describe it, it cheapens the Kennedy Center... he wants to make it look like a brothel!
The president is far from finished tampering with the historic arts center.

Dec. 27 2025

Not content with completing his takeover of the Kennedy Center by slapping his own name on the building, President Donald Trump has revealed the next phase of his current redesign obsession.

The 79-year-old president hinted on Truth Social that the ’60s modernist building in Washington, D.C., would be getting the Mar-a-Lago special with a gold and marble interior refit, starting, of course, with the theater’s armrests.

“Potential Marble armrests for the seating at The Trump Kennedy Center. Unlike anything ever done or seen before!” Trump announced on Friday evening.
Do you believe this, this... sh*t!
Accompanying images show the hard-stone armrest examples that Trump apparently wants to install in the chairs of the center’s three main theaters.

It’s just the latest round in the president’s ongoing commandeering of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a “living memorial” to the 35th president, who was assassinated in 1963.
Everything Trump touches turns to sh*t. Maybe it is because his grandfather ran a whorehouse that he wants everything to look like one!

People are seeing what Trump really is... a "narcissist egomaniac"
Warships, performing arts centers, ballrooms... anything in Washington DC is liable to get named after the White House occupant

In December alone, Donald Trump has lent his name to a new class of warship that the United States will build in the coming years, to the U.S. Institute of Peace, and to Washington’s grand performing arts and music center, the renowned Kennedy Center. As of last week, it is officially called The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center.

Even before that, the president promised to erect a triumphal arch on the National Mall, and began demolishing the East Wing to make way for a new ballroom whose gigantic dimensions will dwarf those of the White House. When it’s finished, it will be called — you guessed it — The Donald J. Trump Ballroom.

There’s also Trump Rx, a website where the government aims to offer prescription drugs at discount prices; the Trump Accounts, an investment account for children that is paid out to the recipient upon turning 18; and the Trump Gold and Platinum Cards. These offer a shortcut for individuals and companies in a hurry to obtain U.S. residency and can afford to spend amounts starting at one million dollars, described as donations to the Department of Commerce.
Trump is a "Megalomaniac"!
Russell Riley, co-director of the Presidential Oral History Program at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center, confirmed in an email that there is no precedent for Trump’s vanity. “These kinds of honors have always been bestowed after leaving office. Culturally, it was considered inappropriate in the United States for a president to honor himself in this way; the primary value of such tributes used to lie in the fact that his fellow citizens understood that his service deserved to be remembered forever by naming important institutions or places after him,” Riley explains. “Any presidential action can be easily reversed by the next president. So I would bet that Trump’s name won’t remain on the Kennedy Center for long after January 2029 [when the next occupant of the White House moves in].”
And let us not forget... "The Gulf of America"!
Many in Washington are wondering which monument will be next on the list, or which respected predecessor Trump is considering associating his name with: Lincoln? Jefferson? Washington? As the United States heads towards the celebration of the 250th anniversary of its founding, which Trump is hoping to underscore with the construction of a triumphal arch near the memorials of those three presidents, it doesn’t seem wise to rule out any possibility.

Remember way back in July when Republicans advanced an amendment to rename the "John F. Kennedy Opera House" to the "First Lady Melania Trump Opera House?"

Yeah, so that never happened.

However, on Thursday, we got news that it would be renamed to the "Trump-Kennedy Center."
Maria Shriver wrote;
"The Kennedy Center was named after my uncle, President John F Kennedy. It was named in his honor. He was a man who was interested in the arts, interested in culture, interested in education, language, history. He brought the arts into the White House, and he and my Aunt Jackie amplified the arts, celebrated the arts, stood up for the arts and artists."

"It is beyond comprehension that this sitting president has sought to rename this great memorial dedicated to President Kennedy. It is beyond wild that he would think adding his name in front of President Kennedy’s name is acceptable. It is not."

"Next thing perhaps he will want to rename JFK Airport, rename the Lincoln Memorial, the Trump Lincoln Memorial. The Trump Jefferson Memorial. The Trump Smithsonian. The list goes on."

"Can we not see what is happening here? C’mon, my fellow Americans! Wake up! This is not dignified. This is not funny. This is way beneath the stature of the job. It’s downright weird. It’s obsessive in a weird way. Just when you think somone can’t stoop any lower, down they go…"
You picture dictators doing this, not someone in the White House!

Then we have the commemorative "Trump Dollar"!

Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) introduced legislation Tuesday to prevent President Trump or any sitting or living former president from being featured on U.S. currency, a bill that would thwart the U.S. Treasury’s plan to issue a commemorative $1 coin with Trump’s image on it.

The bill, titled the Change Corruption Act, is cosponsored by Democratic Sens. Ron Wyden (Ore.) and Richard Blumenthal (Conn.) and states: “No United States currency may feature the likeness of a living or sitting president."

The bill’s authors note the historical precedent of the United States not featuring a living or sitting president on a circulating coin.

The U.S. Mint may announce a decision as soon as this week on issuing a Trump coin to coincide with the nation’s 250th birthday.

“President Trump’s self-celebrating maneuvers are authoritarian actions worthy of dictators like North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, not the United States of America,” Merkely said in a statement.

On Thursday, the board of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts voted to rename the center “the Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” Weirdly, the board of the center, mostly picked by President Donald Trump, does not seem to understand that a “memorial” center is named for someone who is deceased, and thus the new name implies that Trump is dead. By Friday, Trump’s name was physically added to the building at the behest of his handpicked board. Don’t be fooled by the absurdity of Trump’s vanity and the obsequiousness of these government officials: This is not an at all an innocuous move.

American political culture has long rejected the idea that sitting officer holders, or even living persons, should be honored with buildings or institutions named for them, or have their names and faces on currency, coins, or postage stamps. This sort of behavior is alien to a republic and a democracy. It is common, however, in dictatorships. Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Francisco Franco had heir faces on stamps, currency, and coins during their respective despotic reigns. Josef Stalin appeared on numerous stamps while he was the dictator of the Soviet Union and renamed a major city Stalingrad, after himself. Kim Jong-un sometimes appears on North Korean stamps.

[...]

Which brings us to the Kennedy Center. The idea of a national cultural center had bounced around American politics for three decades before President John F. Kennedy pushed for legislation to create it, using both public and private money. The center opened in 1971, nearly eight years after JFK was assassinated. It was formally named the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. Richard Nixon, a Republican, was president when it opened. In fact, Kennedy had beaten Nixon in the 1960 presidential election, but Nixon did not try to change the name. He did attend a performance there in the Eisenhower Theater, which also opened in 1971. Bipartisanship and honoring deceased leaders were etched into the building, literally.

Now Trump has physically etched a different, more sinister tradition into its walls.

Trump's Answer: The Buck Doesn't Stop Here!

[Editorial]

Did you see Trump last night?

He blamed everyone but himself! You know that President Truman said, "The Buck Stops Here!" Trump, "the buck stops over their, not here, never here..."

For Trump credit flows up, blame flows down, if something goes well: “I did it.” and if it goes badly: staff, the courts, the deep state, the media, Democrats, RINOs, Biden, Obama, globalists — pick one.

For Trump he always makes the attacks on policy failures, personal “They’re attacking me” and
“They’re afraid of me” He never says “I was wrong” or “my decision caused this.”

Eleven months in and he is still blaming President Biden, funny how when Biden was just months in office Trump was blaming Biden but now eleven months in to his adminstration he still is blaming Biden.

But it is not working! People are seeing through his rhetoric! His supporters raved while everyone else,
Gavin Newsom mocked it as "Me Me Me"; late-night hosts called it a "liar-side chat." The MAGA people are like "yeah, he is an a**hole but he is our a**hole! The Wrap reported...
Gavin Newsom, Mark Kelly and others laid into Donald Trump’s primetime speech to the nation, roasting the address as “angry, desperate and defensive.”

Shortly after the president gave a near 15-minute speech — where he took shots at his predecessor, Joe Biden, and boasted about his administration’s accomplishments — Trump’s rivals took to social media and television to sound off on his Wednesday update.

For instance, Calif. Governor Newsom took to X and bemoaned that Trump’s address “could have been an email.”

He added, “Trump tonight: Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me [etc.]”
And others said,
Sen. Kelly (D-Ariz.) also slammed Trump’s speech, yet he issued his criticism during an appearance on MS Now’s “The Briefing” on Wednesday evening.

“Initially, I’m like, he’s just making stuff up,” he told host Jen Psaki. “He just says a bunch of stuff. And he says this stuff is going to happen — there’s no policy there. And I’m kind of wondering why he’s so angry and desperate and defensive.”

He continued: “Somebody must have showed him some like abysmal poll numbers and said, you better get out there in front of the American people and explain to them why these poll numbers shouldn’t be in the in the toilet.”
Late night shows had a field day!

It's safe to say Jimmy Kimmel wasn't eagerly anticipating President Donald Trump's primetime address.

In his latest "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" monologue, the comedian mocked Trump for delivering a speech from the White House earlier that evening, which interrupted several shows, including "Survivor" and "The Floor."

"It's weird to think that had a couple of states just gone the other way, he'd be hosting one of those shows," he said. "Trump shouldn't be pre-empting 'The Floor.' He should be mopping it."

Because his show is taped earlier in the day, Kimmel didn't get into the content of Trump's speech, but he dubbed the address a "surprise, primetime episode of 'The Worst Wing'" and a "liar-side chat."
So tonight's show should be interesting!

Like Father, Like Son

I don't like to talk about politicians children but when they put themselves into the spotlight... they're fair game.

Trump has the Epstein Files around his neck and his son Barron has Andrew Tate. Who?
Andrew Tate’s alliance with Trump has been in the making for a long time
Trump’s attempts to intervene in Tate’s rape and human trafficking cases in Romania might seem strange, but their worlds are intimately linked

Ever since I began reporting on Andrew Tate four years ago (during which time my colleague Jamie Tahsin and I made two documentaries, wrote a book on him and interviewed his alleged rape victims), I’ve been sounding the alarm on the far-right disinformation network that connects him to Trump’s inner circle.

Earlier this month, the US special envoy Richard Grenell, a vocal supporter of Andrew Tate, pressured the Romanian government to remove judicial control restrictions on the Tate brothers, demanding that the alleged human traffickers be allowed to travel freely, according to sources who spoke to the Financial Times. The Romanian government has since confirmed this was a request but denied there was political “pressure”.

The alliance between the Trump administration and the Tate brothers has been in the making for a long time. Paul Ingrassia, one of the lawyers Andrew Tate hired to fight his human trafficking case, was recently sworn in as the White House liaison for the Department of Justice. According to him, the Tate brothers were “sacrificed on the altar of the Matrix under the banner of egregious crimes they never committed”.
Trump and this trash were friends with Epstein! And it not just the two of them, also involved in the web including Tucker Carlson and other media stars of the right...
Andrew Tate has been friends since 2016 with Donald Trump Jr, who called Tate’s detention “absolute insanity”. Donald Trump himself also appeared on a stream with the Andrew Tate sycophant and collaborator Adin Ross in August 2024. Around the same time, JD Vance appeared on the pro-Tate podcast the Nelk Boys.

Elon Musk responded to Tate’s plan to “run for prime minister of the UK” by saying “he’s not wrong” and JD Vance followed both Tate brothers on X in December.
But the story is more complicated then just knowing one another. For that story we turn to the Emerald Island,
The Tate escape: How a ‘manosphere’ star accused of rape and trafficking was freed
Barred from leaving Romania, Andrew Tate courted powerful figures on the American right, from Tucker Carlson to Barron Trump. Then an extraordinary order let him go

Days before Donald Trump’s return to the White House in early 2025, Andrew Tate got some good news.

Tate and his brother, Tristan, swaggering influencers in the so-called manosphere, had been under criminal investigation in Romania since 2022, accused of coercing women into pornography. Andrew Tate was also accused of rape and of having sex with and beating a 15-year-old. The brothers, American and British citizens, had been barred from leaving Romania while prosecutors built their case.

Now, in a January 14th text message, Tate indicated that help was on the way.

“I had word from The Trump admin that theyre on top of things,” Tate wrote to someone close to him, in a message. “Ive been told ill be free soon but Trump needs to see me in Miami.” [sic]

[...]

Their arrival in the United States opened a rare rift among conservatives and raised suspicions over whether the White House had intervened. A New York Times investigation found that support from Trump administration officials played a crucial role.

Interviews with dozens of people in Romania, the United States and Britain, as well as a review of hundreds of pages of court documents and private messages, offer the fullest account yet of how the Tates rose from a fringe corner of the internet to become a cause célèbre on the right.

The brothers’ release from Romania was the culmination of a yearslong effort by Andrew Tate to forge alliances with Trump’s advisers and family members.
Wait a minute how did he get here with his record — Isn't Trump cracking down on hardened criminals and scrum entering the country? Then had did Tate make it here with open arms!
Tate also nurtured relationships with Donald Trump jnr and his younger brother Barron Trump, who recognised the role that young male voters could play in their father’s return to power.

Barron, now 19, admired Andrew, and spoke to him over Zoom last year, according to Justin Waller, a mutual friend who was on the call. During the call, they discussed their shared belief that the Romanian criminal case was an effort to silence the Tates, he said.

After Trump’s re-election, some of the Tates’ supporters ascended into the new administration. One of them, diplomatic envoy Richard Grenell, twice discussed their case with Romanian officials, the New York Times found.
His web trapped Trumps children!

A new report from The New York Times reveals how the Trump Administration and members of the president’s family may have been involved in a larger movement in conservative circles to support Andrew and Tristan Tate, right-wing influencers charged with rape, human trafficking and other crimes. Investigative reporter Megan Twohey, who helped break the story, joins Geoff Bennett to discuss.

 Geoff Bennett:

Now a new investigation into the political maneuvers that led to the release of Andrew and Tristan Tate, right-wing influencers charged with rape, human trafficking and other crimes.

The Tates, who are major players with big social media followings in the so-called manosphere, are facing criminal investigations in Romania and criminal charges in the U.K. for alleged sex crimes. The brothers had been barred from leaving Romania for years as prosecutors built their case. But, in February, the Romanian government suddenly lifted the travel ban and allowed the two to board a plane to Florida, which they announced in this video recorded on the plane.

Both men have denied the criminal allegations. A new report from The New York Times reveals how the Trump administration and some members of the president's family may have been involved in a larger movement in conservative circles to support the Tates.

For more, we're joined now by New York Times investigative reporter Megan Twohey, who helped break the story.

Thanks for being with us.

Megan Twohey:

So, Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan to a lesser extent are two of the most influential figures in the so-called manosphere world.

They — Andrew's a former kickboxer, who has built a huge, massive online audience by preaching brazen masculinity and chauvinism to a young male audience. He and his brother also ran a porn business for about 10 years, bragging about how they lured and steered women into making sexual content for paying customers online, and with them taking a lot of the profit.

And they have also sold courses to young men on how to make money and exploit women.
And remember they are friends with the Trump's!
 Geoff Bennett:

What did your reporting find about the involvement of Donald Trump Jr. and Barron Trump specifically?

Megan Twohey:

Yes.

So, the — so, Andrew Tate was very sort of strategic and shrewd in cultivating these alliances with people on the American right, including in the Trump family. And so his relationship with Don Jr. stretches back to 2017, when Andrew had posted a positive tweet about his father and Don Jr. had liked it.

And, anyway, soon, they were hanging out at Trump Tower here in New York. And that stretched up through him coming under investigation and being placed on house arrest in Romania. Don Jr. was one of the people who posted online supporting in defense of the Tates and critical of the Romanian investigation.

And then we found that, by 2024, Barron Trump, the youngest son, was also a fan of Andrew and that they actually spoke by Zoom last year with a mutual friend, who told me that Barron is a big fan of the Tates and that, on this call, they had actually discussed the Romanian case and how they thought it was just an effort to silence the Tates, a politically motivated criminal investigation.
Tate is toxic!
 Megan Twohey:

Within hours of the travel bans being lifted, the brothers were on a private plane to Florida. And their arrival was, I think, a little bit bumpier than they had expected.

While on the one hand, they have garnered a lot of support from certain media and other conservative figures and even members of the Trump family here in the United States, there were also a lot of conservatives, other conservatives, more traditional conservatives who were outraged that they had come back to the United States, Megyn Kelly, Ben Shapiro.

The Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said that they weren't welcome in his state. And the Florida attorney general actually launched an investigation of them there.
It seems like this is a one big sex-ring that Trump and his family is involved with!

Me, Me, Me!

Have you noticed that Trump likes to brand everything with his name!

Summary
  • Suit says using Trump's image breaches federal law
  • Critics liken redesign to Trump's corporate branding
  • Pass usually features nature image from annual photo contest
An environmental group filed suit on Wednesday seeking to prevent the U.S. Interior Department from placing an image of President Donald Trump's face on annual entrance passes for national parks and federal recreational areas that go on sale next year.

Federal law requires the $80-a-year "America the Beautiful Pass" to bear the winning image from an annual photo contest depicting scenery or wildlife in a national park or forest, according to the Center for Biological Diversity's 16-page complaint.

The winning photo from the latest contest in June, sponsored by the National Parks Foundation, was a picture of Glacier National Park in Montana.

But the Interior Department chose instead to scrap that photo and unlawfully replace it with a close-up of Trump, wearing his trademark blue coat, red tie and scowling expression, next to a likeness of George Washington, the lawsuit said.

Such a move undertaken without congressional approval violates the 2004 Federal Lands Recreational Enhancement Act, it said.
Me, me, me, everything has to be about him!

But wait, there's more!!!!!

The National Park Service will offer free admission to U.S. residents on President Donald Trump’s birthday next year — which also happens to be Flag Day — but is eliminating the benefit for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth.

The new list of free admission days for Americans is the latest example of the Trump administration downplaying America’s civil rights history while also promoting the president’s image, name and legacy.

Last year, the list of free days included Martin Luther King Jr Day and Juneteenth — which is June 19 — but not June 14, Trump’s birthday.

The new free-admission policy takes effect Jan. 1 and was one of several changes announced by the Park Service late last month, including higher admission fees for international visitors.
Talk about narcissism!

It’s almost as if he treats public institutions and national symbols like extensions of his private empire, which aligns with his history in business, where branding literally was the product.

But wait there is even more! Trump wants his face on a $1 coin... even though a federal law against a living president being on currency!

The Treasury Department said it is working on a $1 coin featuring President Trump's image to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence next year, although the design isn't final.

A U.S. Treasury official on Friday shared a preliminary design of the coin featuring Mr. Trump.

"No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America's 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real," U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach wrote in a social media post on Friday, which included drawings of the coin. "Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over."

[...]

While federal law prohibits the U.S. Treasury from issuing currency with the image of either a living former or current president, there may be more leeway with commemorative coins produced by the U.S. Mint. Currency is produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, while commemorative coins are produced by the U.S. Mint, which is part of the Treasury Department.

Regulations also state there must be a two-year period after the death of a former or current president before issuing currency with their likeness. Historically, the restriction is to avoid the appearance of a monarchy, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
Hey! When has the law stopped Trump?

K don't think Trump has much wiggle room to say it is only a commemorative coin, isn't true, it is legal tender just like Bicentennial quarter.

So while I was researching the links to the article on ChatGPT  it asked, " If you want, I can make a tongue-in-cheek “Trump Ballroom Wishlist” of what might end up in there—it could be pretty entertaining." I said go to it! Here is ChatGPT Trump's ballroom wishlist.
