Good design is never without real world implications. The T20 Bamboo Electrical Bike is apart of an ongoing series of explorations by French designer Antoine Fritsch into the changing behaviours related to sustainable development. The bamboo body of the bike features cork, steel, aluminum & rubber elements as well as a small motor under the footboard which can cruise up to thirty five kilometers an hour. Brilliant design perhaps best suited to doing wheelies around the island in your IKEA kitchen.

HP 12c 30th Anniversary Edition
Our technology becomes more homogenous with each passing year. One device replaces many. So the need for a calculator must be waning because there's an app for that too. There's an app for everything. What an app cannot replace is a culture's appreciation for a classic. The reverence of an icon. When Hewlett-Packard introduced their 12c scientific calculator in 1981 - running geeks everywhere $150 - they set a standard. The 30th anniversary edition has the same design and simplicity number pushers came to appreciate.

LEGO to Jupiter
Three aluminum LEGO figurines depicting Italian astronomer Galileo and Roman gods Jupiter & Juno were specially commissioned by NASA to travel to Jupiter aboard the Juno space probe. People Too Paper Miniatures
More paper. Russian designers Alexei Lyapunov and Lena Ehrlich have taken to the parchment with a series of paper figures depicting rock & roll legends, Russian aristocracy and Michael Scott too. These Borrower sized caricatures are compelling in their attention to detail - from Bob's dreads to the honky-tonk axe cradled in paper McCartney's arms. Fantastic. Sticks by Emmanuelle Moureaux
There is something compelling and quite striking about French born-Tokyo based designer Emmanuelle Moureaux's Sticks in-store instillation for Issey Miyake. Easily mistaken as art exhibition, these four hundred and eleven coloured sticks circulate throughout the store creating balance and interest to an otherwise stark white showroom.
