Its official.. Mr Bargain Basement has decided to give the IPL a skip this year.
Given his run production last season (39 runs in 4 innings at 9.75), I expect the KKR's to be thrilled to bits by this news.

He's not coming...

Maybe we got it all wrong with Ponting... Maybe he really was doing his best to ensure the Nagpur game was played within the Spirit of Cricket... He has amazing values: Country before IPL, Spirit of Cricket before country...
Lets see Johnson opted out, Clarke opted out and thats definitely a good thing seeing the correlation the Aussie press has found between the IPL and wanton destruction of all their players. On the other hand, Ponting cost them the Border Gavaskar trophy, has been blabbering ludicrously after every loss and took a break after a loss to New Zealand. Yep, I think someone told him that if he wants to continue being the All Australian Hero, it might make sense to stay away from something the Australians have learned to hate pretty quickly.
Sorry, I'm feeling uneasy, like I don't really have a right to be here because I'm questioning his integrity again!
P.S: Didn't Modi say something about players only being allowed to miss the IPL if they were representing their country as part of the FTP schedule or if they were injured? If they ban both Ponting and Clarke from all future tournaments, I think the tournament's likability factor will soar!
lol Achettup :).. Brilliant..
PS:- You mean to say that Clarke's back problem is not related to the IPL? Is that even possible?
Cheers,
cricket be duller without ricky's motormouth. man, are those articles for real? the ghost of ricky writes them.
BCCI,
I doubt if they are ghosted :)
Cheers,
Given his history of complaining about having too much cricket on the schedule, even before the IPL came up, I think the fact that he did play last year says more than not playing this year!
Cheers Jonathan :)
