Happy Wheelie Day!

Image

Rocky and I spent most of today just staying at the Sietch.  The weather was a tad warm at first, but quickly grew cooler as night crept in.  Rocky surprised me by bringing home Chicken Empanadas and a Red Ribbon Fudge Cake! Sadly, Mango Cream Pie wasn't available but even that barely dampened the joy and excitement of today.

Right now, I am still finishing some last few ABBA-related work, but later tonight we are heading to Yale for a friend's birthday party.  We have gaming to look forward to tomorrow night and another birthday (Happy Birthday Anak!) to attend after that.  Quite busy, but very happy!  If we're lucky, we will be able to squeeze in some massage time.

I always find myself getting all mushy when I recall that fateful night when Rocky pretty much proposed to me with Wheelie in his hands.  And how we both realized how strong the connection we shared really was.  That night will always be a night we will celebrate.

Happy Wheelie Day!
I love you, Rocky!

Pride isn't always Evil

The White Party is almost here and Rocky and I had a pair of matching shirts to wear for the event.  Even more awesome is how we've been added to the VIP guest list which means no worrying over long lines just to get to our favorite bar.  I guess iba talaga ang alaga ng bar towards people when it really cares for its clients and isn't just after the moolah.  But I'll let that train of thought stop there.

This would be the third time Rocky and I are attending the annual White Party and I can't help but still look back at how my life before didn't care about coming out or being proud of who I am.  But I guess life can be unexpected that way.  And love, that fulfilling.

Since I started my other blog, I've tried to focus more on the gay stuff on that blog, and the personal and geeky stuff here.  I find myself always caught in the middle when it comes to updates on my geeky gay life.  While say updates on gaming, or videogames, or a movie can easily fall here in The Garapata Can Speak, and my geekwood devoted posts, gay politics updates and the like can fall under Blame It On The Rain, Bro, I've always struggled on where to place updates of my existing relationship with Rocky and how we enjoy our geeky-gay life together.  At times I put them here, since they're generic enough for the non-gay-friendly audience to read.  But at times I place them at Blame it since they're seemingly more appropriately placed there.  Both are personally important blogs of mine, so the confusion never quickly fades.

Image

Soon, however, that problem will cease to exist.  Rocky and I are in the process of creating a blog which will house our updates of our day-to-day happiness and in many ways act as a nice diary of sorts of our shared lives.  While these two other blogs are always there to contain my ranting, the new blog will definitely be our way of celebrating how happy we are and how awesome every single day is now that we found each other.

I can't wait to get that blog up and running.  I'm still working on ideas for the blog template/look.  But we've pretty much decided on what to call it.  Rocky even purchased the domain name already!

While I am certain there will be those who won't "like" how mushily happy we are, and for sure there will be those naysayers who think a love like ours cannot be real, I think time will tell how wrong they are.  We've already hit two years and continue to grow stronger, happier, and even more baduy with every passing day.

Sometimes, there's a reason to have some Pride for what you have.
And we are definitely going to celebrate that very soon!

Great Weekend Ahead

Image

It is the weekend and already I'm pretty excited for how things are gonna unfold today.  Rocky and I have a very full weekend mapped out.  With the Giovanni Chronicles on hold for this weekend, Rocky and I plan to catch The 39 Steps and cap the night off with most like PS3 gaming, movies and stuff. :-)  I am not sure if this will be another Dear Darla night but I do know it definitely will be another fun evening.  If work is light enough, we might even possibly head out to join the ADB group for another fun night, but that will have to be tentative for now.  Rocky will need to catch up on sleep and rest too after all.

Sunday will be busy with Next to Normal, to be followed with the start of Shards of a Solar Empire, the upcoming Exalted game for the Sunday group.  Made a blog for that game too which can be found here.  I'm starting to think of keeping all the blogs I make for the games I run, just because blogger doesn't charge anyway for the webspace.  It can be fun looking back to see what stuff we were throwing around later on.

Neck hurts a tad, but that's cause I stupidly fell asleep again on the couch while playing Civilization Revolution.  The darn game is a pretty good translation of the Civilization game for a console and I have to admit I'm feeling pretty happy with how much I've developed in playing that game.  Still find time for some free weights and Fight, but man I definitely find myself missing certain work-out equipment that target the back, arms and chest better.  Hmm or a massage.

All in all, however, life has been grand.  Save for the strange hiccups every now and then, I don't really have much to rant about.  It is funny how things can turn out for the best once you really choose to embrace what you deserve.

Cheers to life.

Gonna Get my Yummy Me Back

Image
Not everyone's type, I know.
But I know who likes me this hawt!
I am way behind on my plans to work out this year.

A few years ago, I got myself into the mindset to be healthier.  I started cutting down on my smokes and began tracking my gym habit against my drinking gimmicks.  Admittedly, I wasn't working out as much as I could have, but damn for that brief period in my life I have to admit there was a substantial and noticeable change in my figure.  While I still am far from the ideal build that wins someone a spot on a Bench billboard, I did gain some arms, slightly boosted a chest and rediscovered my long hidden six pack (a lovely set of pandesals which I had developed years ago when I was pretty much an athlete who swam in competitions.)  But yeah, that was just one month of working out and I do think I did pretty well.  I actually only hit the O bar 17 times compared to hitting the gym 15 times.

This year, I have plans to getting back into the groove.  I barely smoke now (from the daily habit to practically five sticks a week at most) and I actually eat a better diet now than before.   I told myself sometime in December that I had to start getting healthier, and this plan to do so was seconded by Mina, Rocky's sister who is also known as my Ate Two.  She shared with me her own ideas on how to get back into the working out mode and I found myself today thinking I need to push myself by tracking my development like I did back in 2008.

So here we go.  Starting with Jan 1 (and yes, I am intentionally setting myself already behind my schedule) I will track each bar gimmick to a gym session and I will aim to have the gym sessions always dominate the count at the end of the month.  While this does mean pushing myself to work out each day I can, it also may mean attending parties and choosing NOT to drink anything alcoholic (since I will count such drinks as bar sessions as well).  I know this ain't the professional or better way to do this, but this is what worked for me back then and I will make it work for me this time.  If things go as I foresee,  I should have another body worth envying by April.  I still recall how much support (and unexpected rape scenarios) I had from my friends back.  It would be nice to be able to bring that back as well.

Does this mean I have to switch to hard drinks?

Fridays will most likely now be the definitely gym day with Rocky.  Be it just at the Sietch, with me doing a lot of exercises and (eventually) free weights or at the gym downstairs which our condo has for its residents, we're gonna start with the once a week gym thing and slowly increase the number of days as time goes by.

If Jakey can do it, I can do it!
Who knows, maybe this might even lead to more "rackets" later this year!  BWahahah!

Happy Gay Pride!

Image

Had a fantastic White Party last night.  Pictures to follow.  O bar was so packed, it was a bar and sauna in one!  But heck, it was darn fun!  Really great too being considered a VIP to some extent that we were allowed to have a table reserved for us.

For those curious as to what shirt Rocky and I wrote for it, feel free to check it out here.

Thank you for joining us in celebrating it!
Special thanks to the one straight friend who was brave enough to join and celebrate with us!

Happy Gay Pride to you all!
