20 years!

Today Dale and I celebrate 20 years of marriage!
Wow!
It is hard to believe that I have now been married half my life.

First, Dale blessed (and surprised) me with a beautiful diamond anniversary ring. Then earlier this week we went out to a nice dinner to celebrate. The first question my kids asked me after dinner was, "So, what did you guys talk about?" Then they asked, "Did you talk about us?" Silly kids...I don't think they realize we had a life before them=).

Because I do not know how to work my very nice computer scanner and my live-in computer expert is in bed (aka my daughter), I went ahead and attempted to take a couple of pictures of our wedding.

Yes, I am somewhere underneath all that dress;). I was sitting down...I'm short, but not that short.
And it was the nineties, folks. Don't judge me on my color choice=).

This next pictures shows how I was not fond of the whole garter tradition and placed that garter by my ankles so I wouldn't be so embarrassed. Despite that, this picture makes me smile...not because I can see my size three waist (haven't seen that in 20 years), but that I am so giddy and happy. That was one of the happiest day in my life and I truly felt like I was living my fairytale.

Still do.=).

I am so blessed to be married to my best friend.

He cooks and picks up my dirty towels and listens to my ramblings late at night.
He prays over me and encourages me to memorize scripture and reminds
me that God is on my side.
He cries with me and laughs with me and charges up my cell phone every night.
He loves our children and loves my parents and loves me.
He still reaches for my hand in the van and has never told me that I had bad breath and still thinks I am pretty even though I am not a size three, anymore.

Happy Anniversary, Dale.
I can't wait to see what the next 20 + 20 years will hold.
Love,
Your wife

A Good Day

Yesterday was a good day.
We slept late.
I cleaned house.
And opened my inbox to find a note from Dale.
It made me smile.
We dropped kids off at my aunt's.
They gave me lots of kisses goodbye.
My oldest daughter gave me an extra squeeze.
Dale and I held hands in the van.
His hands are always warm.
We then ate too much.
And shared a dessert--cheesecake with hot fudge and real whipped  cream (not Cool Whip).
We came home and said prayers.
And tucked kids in bed.
And then watched a movie.
And remembered our last nineteen years--together.
It was a good anniversary.
Thank you, Lord, for another year.
