Dates

It will start on June 30 at 2 pm Eastern Time (EST) and will end on July 1 at 8 pm EST, and judging will be between 8 pm and 11 pm. The award ceremony will be from 11:30-11:40 pm EST. In between, we will have several workshops :)

Eligibility

Age 13 or up. 

Project and Submission Requirements

Website demo link (replit, heroku app, etc) , Website code link (github or replit) , and 2-3 minute demo video (youtube or google drive link)

 

 

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Judging + Scoring Logistics:

  • Categories: Best educational hack, Best environmental hack, Best game hack

  • Each category has 1 winner + 1 runner up

  •  

  • User Experience + Visual Design: 10 points

    • How easy is it to navigate/use/play?

    • How appealing is it to look at?

    • Is a demo readily available?

  • Creativity/Originality: 15 points

    • How does this project exceed or subvert the norm?

    • Does it do something truly unique?  Push the envelope so to speak?

    • WOW factor

  • Category Fit: 5 points

    • How well does the project fit the chosen category?

    • If the score for this is < 3, disqualify the project

  • Functionality: 10 points

    • Does the project work as described?

    • Are there issues/bugs?

  • Technique: 10 points

    • How fancy is the project?

    • Does it use advanced topics like ML, client/server communications, 3D graphics, game physics etc.?

    • Complexity of project
