Hello! Here are some things about me.

Who Am I?

I'm a thirty-seven year old Australian woman (she/her). I've been in a committed relationship for eighteen years. I have two dogs, six cats, and a blue tounged skink. I've been online for twenty-one years, been blogging for sixteen. I live with my mother, because that's how life goes sometimes, and my longterm partner. I'm trying to build my life here, but it's taking some time.

Why Am I Here?

Because I got gifted a free account. Because I love the diversity statement. Because Dreamwidth is going out of its way to cater for people with disabilities and special needs (I'm autistic) and to welcome people, no matter their race, religion, gender or sexuality (I'm queer). Because I love websites and providers that are more focussed on developing a good, user-friendly product than on advertising or profits.

What Do I Like?

Lots of things! Books, computers, handcrafts, fan fiction, TV series... Like anyone else, my interests are legion. We most likely have something in common that we could bond over. I'm here, and I'm open to new friends, so feel free to friend me if you like erratic posting about baking, knitting and fibre craft, gardening, autism and mental health, tarot as therapy and introspection, queer lit and film (from kid level through to adult), platform and puzzle gaming, fantasy and sci fi fiction, true crime fiction, and fandom. I like Marvel, Elementary (and other Sherlock Holmes stuff), Brooklyn Nine Nine, Once Upon A Time, White Collar, Leverage, The Librarians, CSI, The Great British Bake Off, Vera, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Frankie Drake Mysteries, Harry Potter, Press Gang, ITV Poirot and Marple, and Doctor Who and Torchwood from a while ago. (Haven't seen any 13 yet!)

Current obsessions? I'm still riding the Marvel ship, though I'm way behind on a lot of things, I still love it. I'm up to date with Elementary and Brooklyn Nine Nine and the Librarians, but I'm still working my way through Once Upon A Time (I'm about halfway.)

I like to write. Find my fiction over at shadowfiction(archived) or, more recently, at IamShadow21! Lots of Potter stuff from about 2008, several Torchwood/Who stories written a little later, and a couple of Sherlock ones after that, White Collar, and then a bunch of Marvel stuff. There's the odd random one in there, too, like the single fic I wrote for the film What's Your Number? I'd really love to be a longfic writer, but it's difficult for me. Most of my stories are under five thousand words. My AO3 hasn't been updated in a while, but that's just because I haven't written in a while. It's still my primary, complete archive.
