Castle 3.02
Sep. 27th, 2010 10:19 pmMy mom has a subscription to Better Homes & Gardens, and sometimes I look through it, mostly at the recipes. I usually find them to be either analogues of things I already know how to make, or far too complex to mess with, but usually they at least make sense.
Bacon in chocolate chip cookies DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. Someone there needs to lay off the crack.

Tonight's Castle:
Huh. I'm not sure, and IMDB doesn't confirm it, but the actress playing the victim (Vivian Marchand) in the photos and that brief bit of footage we had of her sure looked an awful lot like Patricia Tallman. Perhaps?
Some definite cuteness in this one, like last week's. I think my favorite bit was Castle commenting on how Cassis is "a good name. Hard to use the plural possessive, though. Cassises's?" Heh. Also, the namechecking of Scully was great.
Beckett's surprise when Castle mentioned that Vivian had told him a beautiful woman would move in with him was cute, as was her little, "oh, right," expression when he mentioned it was his mother.
I saw Castle's middle name being Alexander coming from the moment he expressed an interest in what Penny had said about it, but then I think pretty much everyone did.
The music is starting to bug me. Are they contractually obligated to use a pop song at the end of each episode? And obligated to play it so loudly that one can barely hear the dialogue? *waves cane and yells about kids on the damn lawn*
ETA: Pat Tallman was the victim this week! Awesome. Man, what has she even been up to lately? (Also, I wonder if it was intentional that they cast her to play a psychic. Heh heh heh. Apparently her Touched By Vorlons thing extends even further than B5...)

Bwahaha. Poor baby. I was just surprised to see her on the screen...I don't think I've ever seen her in anything else, aside from bit parts and stunts doubling on various Star Treks...

Date: 2010-09-28 04:15 pm (UTC)...On the other hand, honesty compels me to point out that I also liked cucumber and "spring garlic" sorbet and ice cream (separate, not together!), so it may just be that I like strange flavors. The cucumber especially really was tasty, though...

...Wow, I think I almost remember that. It pings a faint memory of that pointy little face of hers. o_O

I think I will leave you to your interesting flavors... ;)

Hahaha, her face is rather pointy, isn't it? Cute, though. Anyway, I read that she doubled primarily for Crusher and Kira, which makes sense. Also, apparently she choreographed a number of the fights, which is pretty awesome.

Date: 2010-09-28 08:57 pm (UTC)From the first scene with Pat as the corpse I said, "Oh no, is this what she is doing now?" and he quickly recognized her also.
He had told me how "birdlike" he found her, and yet also very pretty. He also immediately said, "Look, the same wild red hair!"
Me do notice things ;)

Date: 2010-09-28 10:10 pm (UTC)Apparently it is. According to Wikipedia, though, she runs a talent agency, or something like that. Also, I think she still does a lot of stunts and fight choreography, and maybe some stage work.
Her hair was even in the same style. I was impressed.
