6 Months

I can't believe that our little guy is 6 months old! He is just over 16lbs and 26 1/2 inches tall. He rolls over, can sit up, and the other day I caught him with both knees tucked under him and one arm pushing off the ground. He is going to crawl so soon! I love his little giggles and his growls when he is trying to talk. He just makes me laugh.

Don't you just want to squeeze him??

Happy Dog

Despite Russell's attitude in previous posts, he has been a super happy dog lately. I think it is the extra 2 hands that are excited to pet him. It also helps that those new hands usually have bits of bananas or sweet potatoes hidden in them :)

Sink Bath

Parker is getting pretty good at sitting up, so we decided to try giving him a bath in the kitchen sink. It is just such a pain sometimes to drag out his bath tub for a 5 minute bath. He did great in the sink! Aside from the splashing (which soaked me, the floor, cabinets and window) this was a thousand times easier to give him a bath. He was pretty excited about the baby bubble bath that we bought him.

New Schedule

This is one of those things that is so very "Ken". Parker is out growing his E-A-S-Y method, so we were looking for for a good way to describe his new schedule. Ken spends a good 20 minutes, and several different drafts, and comes up with this.

Image
I start laughing, and he proceeds to walk me through his elaborate schedule. Different colors are used to stand for different scenarios. I just laugh because this is exactly how Ken's brain works. It is very logical and sequential. I do love, however, how involved Ken is in Parker's schedule. What a good daddy that he goes through the time, trouble and discussion with me to make out his little guy's daily routine. And of course after we get a good schedule written out.... Parker decides to switch it all up on us. ::sigh::

Really, Russell... Really?

I'm not even going to say anything else about this picture.... Russell has said enough.

Hours of Fun...

The side of the box of blocks claims it will be "Hours of Fun". When these are the instructions for putting together a single block... it is not "fun".

Image
After about a dozen cardboard cuts and an hour of swearing, the blocks were done. Seriously... what a hot mess.

Balloon!

This barrel of fun happened by accident. I was gathering up this balloon from Jay and Marie's engagement party several weeks ago to throw in the trash. I noticed that Parker didn't take his eyes off the balloon, so I let him play with it for a second. I thought he might enjoy looking at the balloon, but I didn't think he would like it this much!! I can't bring myself to throw it away now, and let him play with it almost every day.

*Don't worry... this game is always supervised*

Ice Cream Social

There was an Ice Cream Social downtown on the circle this past Friday. Seriously, $3 for a sundae with all the toppings you want?? Yes, please! Parker was Captain Crabby and not having anything to do with having his picture taken.

Giant cow with cow babies behind her. Parker was not impressed.
Image
The event was hosted by Marlin Jackson of the Colts, and we happened to run into him just before we left. Again... Parker was not impressed. (Please excuse the hot mess that I was that day. I worked the night before and it felt like it was 200 degrees outside!)
Image
After Parker's major meltdown, we took him to Dick's Bodacious BarBQ. He ate some applesauce and was back to his happy self. Next time we will know... applesauce first!

A Pool!!

Psych! We didn't get a pool.... bummer, right? Parker and I went to the JCC water park, which is the next best thing to getting a pool. This was his first real time in water and he absolutely loved it! He splashed and jumped in the water and even went through the lazy river with a waterfall.

Image
I love that happy stink eye he is still giving people.

Indians Game

Parker made it to his first Indians game this week! The weather was sunny and hot, perfect baseball weather. (Don't worry, we had Parker in the shade 90% of the time) He did not like the loud crowd and lost his marbles every time they cheered. It was an hour or so past his usual bedtime, so I think he did pretty well considering. We went to the game with Grandpa Jack and Grandma Mary and were surprised when Jay and Marie called to say they were on the way too! Being the usual jerks that we are we just took pictures of ourselves with Parker. (I swear one day we are going to get better about that... )

Evolution of the Jumper

The jumper has come a long way in the 4 months that Parker has been using it. It started out as just a fun place to sit besides the vibrating chair, but has now become one of Parker's major sources of entertainment. He can almost get it off the ground on a really good day.

Please excuse our poor video quality. We are using an old point and shoot with a video function. It is a little hard to get a good video of him when he is this active. I did make a batch of cookies a few hours before I took this video.... I wonder if our little spider monkey was on a sugar rush...

New Tricks

Parker got his first sippy cup! He can get the water into his mouth, but then spits it all right back onto his shirt. The doctor said we can try some juices every once in a while... but I don't think I'm ready for that mess yet.Image
He has also started to give himself hickeys on his right arm. Only the right arm, and only when he is trying to fall asleep. Attractive, right?? This was also just a few days before we had a doctor checkup... and it does look suspiciously like slap marks. Little Firemonster strikes again.

Love Him

Image
I just love this little guy.

Cousin Time!

Parker got to spend some quality time with his cousins Harrison and Maxwell over the holiday weekend. It is starting to be a lot of fun to watch the boys interact with each other. The Bloomington crew hosted, so they had all of the entertainment (jumpers, walker, playmat) that the boys could handle!

"Thanks for pulling my walker around for me. I'll be taking that now."
Image
"Did you not get the message... this is my house"
Image
"I'm sorry buddy, you can play with my toys." (Just quit telling on me you big baby)

It isn't easy to get 3 boys under 1 to sit still for a picture... so this is our best!Image
