Trick-or-Treat

I wouldn't mess with this crew if I were you....
Max from Where the Wild Things Are, Cowboy, and Monkey

Image
We let Parker go door to door with a sucker... it really kept his candy craziness under control.
Image
They didn't know what to think about this guy. Harrison went blank and slowly backed away from the door.
Image
We let the boys go solo to Max's house....

Luckily JJ was quick with the candies.

Photo Shoot Fail.

Here are some outtakes (fine, they were all outtakes) of a photo shoot we set up with Parker and Harrison. Harrison was good as gold and "cheesing" all over the place. Parker decided he did not want to play....

Cousin Bath

I'm totally hanging this up in their dorm in 2027.

Max had wandered off by this point...
Don't they just look like they will get into trouble later?

Zoo Boo... Round 2

I was much more prepared for Zoo Boo Round 2. Everytime Parker handed me candy to open, I gave him a smartie that I had stashed in my pocket. He was quite happy with just that and moved to the next candy station.

He was obsessed with this cat/pumpkin combination. The cat would pop out of the pumpkin and Parker meowed every.single.time.

Grandpa came with us this time around.Image

Can you believe I just got all this candy!!Image

Cookie Cutters

(Disclaimer: Parker's cousin Amanda will always be his first and BEST hairstylist, we just can't always drive to Terre Haute when he needs a trim)

I was reluctant to take Parker to cookie cutters. I totally thought it was over priced and I could get his hair cut anywhere. I was totally wrong! They are baby hair whisperers. He sits in an awesome car, watches tv, then gets a balloon when he is done. They are super patient and really know how to keep a little one distracted. And there are coupons all over the place for $10 or less.
This trip was a little too close to nap time...

Ceramics

We went to one of those paint your own pottery places on a Thursday I had off of work. Parker chose an alligator. He did pretty well keeping the paint where it was supposed to be... except when he hugged his freshly painted alligator and got glaze all over his face.

Image
We picked up his finished project a week later! He really likes the teeth.

Zoo Boo... Round 1

Mom and I took Parker to the Zoo Boo. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was definitely ill prepared. Both cameras were out of batteries, and my cell phone died after taking these two pictures... major mommy fail.
Image
Image
It was packed! I have been spoiled going to the zoo on random Tuesdays when it is empty. Parker was a crazy candy bandit and screamed when I didn't open his candy fast enough. He blocked the trick or treat lines and flailed until he got his Twlizzer.

Grandpa Sweater

Parker put on his most mature looking sweater when visiting baby Hadley today. (I know, we didn't take any baby pics... lame!) We stopped by Dad and Mary's and Parker ran around in the leaves like a maniac.
Image
Doesn't he look like such a big boy??

Pumpkin

We were feeling pretty good coming home from the Covered Bridge Festival with bellies full of treats, and some crazy metal birds in the trunk. Then we spotted something on the side of the road that made Dad, Mary and I all yell "turn the car around!" A flat bed full of GIGANTIC pumpkins!!!! We picked out the biggest one that would fit in the car and were on our happy way. Parker was pretty pumped when he woke up and saw 2 old dudes and a tarp loading this bad boy into the car.

Parker loves Barbie

Second trip to the Children's Museum and we only repeated one exhibit. This place is huge!! My dad took a random Tuesday off of work, so we headed to the museum in the morning.

I've always wanted a dog named Hoosier... this might be as close as I get.
Image
Parker was into wearing the costumes this time. Penguin slide!!
(I overheard one kid ask his mom if he could wear a costume. She looked horrified and said "no". The Harrison's aren't afraid of a couple shared cooties in a penguin costume.)
Image
Jumping in the fossil dig. He actually wore the goggles a lot longer than I thought he would.
Image
He loves the play version of the Fireworks of Glass exhibit.
Image
This was the first time we went to the Playscape area for kids under 5. I felt bad dragging him out of there!!
Image
He couldn't leave without putting a move on Barbie.

Deep Fried Cupcake

Dad and Mary took Parker and I to the Covered Bridge festival on Monday. There was tons of stuff to look at, and even more to eat. My heart stood still when I saw this beauty....

Image
Seriously... dip an iced cupcake in funnel cake batter and deep fry it??? Yep.
Image
It's giving Peanut Butter and Chocolate popcorn ball a run for it's money.

Hard at work

Maybe he will be handy like his Daddy.
