July and all it's Fun!

I love the summer time! It's my favorite time of year... second being fall... but anyway back to summer. Every summer Colby joins us for 6 weeks, sometimes longer and this is really when I consider summer to start. Not that we don't do things in June it just seems to me that summer and all it's fun starts when the whole family is here! So here's a look into our summer...

Every year Highlands Ranch has a big town festival for the 4th of July at Town Center. It's complete with all things summer... bounce houses, face painting, carnival food and horse and carriage rides! So this was the start to our 4th!

Adeline is totally enamored with bounce houses right now!

We ride the hay ride at every event and this year the owners were nice enough to let Adeline ride upfront! Wow what a lucky girl!

One more bounce house before we go home for a nap... this one was complete with a slide!!!

We had a yummy summer BBQ at Kristin & Ryan's house before fireworks and look what we saw from their backyard! A rainbow! While it's very pretty it means rain... we were hoping that it would blow over before fireworks but we weren't that lucky. :(

Castle Rock on the way to fireworks at the park... we thought we would try out the Castle Rock fireworks since it was going to be our new home soon! The kids had a great time rolling down the hill while we waited for the fireworks show...

The kids had a great time playing and running around the park but we never got to see a fireworks show that night. The wind rushed in and the skies opened up and it POURED! I have never run so far so fast (remember I don't run) and was totally freezing! So home we went... Here's to Fireworks on July 5th! Take 2 tomorrow night!
