Happy and Sad

Image

Today we welcome Leigh back to South Africa although she is only here for a holiday and will soon return to sub zero temperatures of Sweden. While it is great to have Leigh with us for a short while it is also sad as we have to say goodbye to the Chapman family (Lad, Crystal, Square, Wyatt, Crusoe and Parker) as their Swaziland mission work has come to an end and will return to the States tomorrow. In today's photo are Leigh, Emmelinah, Crystal and Lad.

Hej!

ImageLeigh surprised us this evening when she popped in for home cell. Here she is sitting next to Emmelinah and as you can see she looks a bit sun kissed or is that blushing? Leigh is down on holiday from Sweden for two weeks visiting her parents at Sedgewood in the Western Cape and of course us here in Joeys.

Leigh’s Farewell

ImageI spent the day at Metrorail looking forward for evening as it was Home Cell. We had a farewell dinner for Leigh. She is one of the world’s top research scientists in the HIV/Aids and Malaria fields and is leaving South Africa for a job in Sweden. This is a big lost for South Africa but she is a good friend and I wish her all the best in the land of the giants. In the photo is Francis, Leigh, Jane and Karin.

Home Circle start

Image

While it has been raining outside, I add the meeting to finalize the African Defence Systems' Intranet. They had a few changes which I need to finish before the end of next week. Anyway I received my Cat in the Hat invite for Saskia's 40th and I am looking forward to it. Tonight we started home cell with a dinner. In the photo you can see Rob and me with Natalie and Leigh in the foreground. I have to start writing the Home Circles newsletter again after a two month break. Parts of the newsletter is repeated on This is the BBC.
