Okay I did not take this photo but I am there in the crowd doing my power stance during the briefing of the Joint Visibility Operation in Mogale City this evening. There just off centre to the left wearing a blue shirt with an open luminous reflector jacket.
Lynda and I joined the few from Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch to represent the RNW at the Joint Visibility Operation along with Mogale CPF Sectors 3, 4 and 5; Muldersdrift Sector 3; Randburg CPF; Security companies APCAN and EPR; Intellidrive; Netcare 911; Mogale City Community Safety, Disaster Management and the West Rand Fire Department along with the South African Police services. Yip there was a large number of groups represented, although I wonder what happened to Sector 7, Sector 8 and the other Security companies.
Well that's my Friday over.

Canadian Surprise
Friends of ours, Nic, Suzanne, Nika, and Aidon, from Canada are in town for the Christmas holidays, and they came round for breakfast much to the surprise of Matthew. Oh course I kept it a secret and he was sure surprised to see his friend Aidon who he last saw way in 2008 when Matthew visited Toronto. And my Aidon has grown, he is a head taller than Matthew and Matthew is tall himself. What are they feeding him in Canada?
After breakfast we took a walk into the Protea Forest to the edge of the gorge, it was River Song’s first walk into the veldt and she enjoyed it although she did get stuck at some of the rocky bits and Aidon helped her.

Vreugde
It was a joyous occasion to see my friends from Canada. I better not say it any more but from right to left are the first class Canadian family Suzanne, Nic, Nika and Aidon. I wish I could have spent more time catching up with them but I had to rush after my BBC duties.
But the joy was short lived as Matthew is still in hospital. The doctor told me that they sent Matthew’s blood for testing for deep epilepsy and thyroid problems. I never heard of deep epilepsy but he told me that the seizures associated with epilepsy are not shown but the sufferer has blackouts and are sometimes not even aware of them. Also they pick up a hyper ectopic heart beat which has pointed the doctors towards thyroid issues. The doctor said that the thyroid issues are genetic and was also very interested in my mom's thyroid problems and my sister’s recent Hashimoto's Disease. Oh dear it doesn't sound good.
Keep praying. The blood results should be out tomorrow.

Aquarius - Go Sonics
Our DSL line is still down. Can't Telkom get anything right? Anyway spent the morning watching Matthew at the Bryneven Primary School's Athletics Day. Matthew's house Aquarius managed an respectable second while I caught up with Rudolf's parents Suzanne and Jean (shown in today's photo)
