Universal Paints Fail
Oh dear, see what happens when you try save a few rands in the building renovations. We are nearing the end of converting our home office into a rentable cottage, thank goodness. Yes taking on a project like this has its ups and downs, 1 of the downs is the outside paint.
I went into the closest Universal Paints shops here on the West Rand and asked for the closest match to the existing colour instead of a deep tint to match exactly which would have cost a couple of hundred rand more but my thinking is if you paint corner to corner you would not see a slight colour difference. Well as you can see, with Universal Paint’s standard colours nothing comes close to the outside of my house. My bad, as this is the colour blind test result.

The Painters
It is not much to write home about as the painters arrived to apply the third coat of paint on my office wall. Being a cold wet day, I braved the elements keeping my windows open to extract as much as the fumes as possible.
By mid-afternoon, I was past the splitting headache part and into a dozy sleepy stage. I battled to stay awake and by the time I got home, I overdosed on headache pills, put my head on my pillow and was out for the count.
Sometime in the evening I was woken up with a lovely supper, prepared by Lynda. Thank goodness this week is about over.

Then I got High
As you should know by now, that is if you follow my blogs, the Digital section of eKayaMedia has moved into the building next door and we are slowly making our work space more wow and then I got high.
Yip the painters are in, after rhinoliting the walls with gypsum plaster, today they started with the first coat of three paint layers which hopefully will be followed on Friday with the vinyl wrap. So while the paint fumes keep me astro-travelling, watch this space for my new look office, coming as soon as I find why my desk is spinning.
I was going to say something intelligent here but that was before I got high, before I got high. Eish these paint fumes is not good for me. Headache alert!

Bosasa at Work
It is past the middle of the week and weekend is rushing towards us like a freight train. Bosasa, so much work and so little time. When I told my step dad that I work at Bosasa, he answered if I am working for Tomorrow. Hey, I thought Bosasa meant the Future, but according to my dad, his workers use the word bosasa for tomorrow, like I will do it tomorrow. Oh well I suppose there are nuances even in the word bosasa, tomorrow and in the future.
There is no such thing as procrastination here at Bosasa. Tomorrow we are getting our hands off the keyboards and painting our own work spaces. The paint has arrived for my office, oh dear they are serious about this painting story. Well let the creative side of me spill out and make some colourful noise, double velvet style, no wait that was gangnam style.

Wetpaint
Today started off very slow with me looking for work to do at Metrorail but by the afternoon I was so busy that I had to tell Marketing to wait in the queue. It was new designs for PRASA for the Premier Classe that had to be done by today. Then marketing also wanted designs by today. On top of all this today stuff I had to put up a temporary combined intranet and point Tswhane’s old one to it. Finally I ended up at Wetpaint Advertising for a briefing session. I was so busy that I forgot to take a photo during the day so I took a snap of Wetpaint’s logo outside their offices.
