Oh lordy, I am having such a hard time coming up with something to photograph! I definitely think I've lost all motivation here. Thank goodness there's only two more days!
Anyway, I'm planning to include this letter in a picture wall arrangement... if I ever get around to it. I have to choose photos, buy frames, yada, yada, yada. One of these days...
*sigh* Well, my nice cozy sleep was most unceremoniously interrupted this AM by these guys and their obnoxiously loud JACKHAMMER!! Ugh! I know I should be (and really, I am) grateful that we have people like this who are willing to brave frigid early Sunday mornings to repair broken water mains, and I'm beyond grateful that it didn't affect OUR water, but still... a terribly rude awakening from a perfectly sound slumber!!
Been feeling poorly and popping pain pills the past couple of days so my productivity with the camera has been shot all to hell. I'll be back to my regular self soon.
Totally a last minute shot -- I was busy watching the Redskins lose to the Steelers. *sigh*
Anyway, for this week's theme, this was taken from a different perspective than I usually do. I just sat the camera down on the flat surface of a book, focused, and snapped this table decoration. Kinda interesting angle.
This tarp-covered wood rack has been sitting outside our patio door all winter but for some reason these 3 grommets jumped right out at me today. Not terribly inspiring, but wasn't feeling all that motivated today so having the weekly theme definitely helped... thanks Karin!
I literally ran out of time with this. I was going to try and get a better series of shots but when I picked the timer up to reposition it, the silly thing shattered in my hands! So, this is all there is, there ain't no more... timer.
Not a complete sequence of years, but a different way to illustrate the progression of time. You can see the difference between the top three and the others - back when they were still made of silver.
Now I know y'all are probably wondering "what the heck is she doing with a sundial in the house!?" Well, I'll tell ya - it's colder than cold out there, even windier than that, and I wasn't about to get all bundled up, get the sundial set up just right, and then have the sun go back behind the clouds like it's been doing all day, while I sat there freezing my tush off waiting for it to come back out!
Soooo, still wanting to show another example of time and not having a better idea, I waited and took it inside instead, and stayed warm in the process. And look, it even has leapy-type frogs on it for Leap Year Day! LOL :D
After 40-some years, I suppose it was time to get a new ice bag. The old one (on the right with the neat rubber seal and metal-threaded top) has definitely served us well (especially these past couple of weeks.) Apparently, it has sprung a leak, making replacement necessary. I seriously doubt the new one, with its all-plastic fittings, will last anywhere near as long.
I'm a nice lady with a nice hubby and 2 relatively nice cats. This is where I talk about bits and pieces of the world I live in - good, bad, and indifferent - sprinkled with love, whimsy, wisdom, and a bit of nonsense.
