Europe Trip- Adventures from Netherlands to France; Country of Romance

17th November 2014

The adventure of my Europe Trip is continued from my previous entries on Netherlands. The weather of the day we left Netherlands to Paris was incredibly good, with sunshine and blue sky. We felt bad for this as our photos in KinderdijkDen HaagScheveningen and Zaanse Schans would be looking nicer with the presence of the Sun.

Europe Trip- Netherlands | Amsterdam Night Scenery

16th November 2014

The time spent at Scheveningen was about 15 minutes and we departed to Amsterdam for our dinner. The tour guide mentioned that we could drop by Hard Rock Cafe and Amsterdam Casino after our dinner. The weather was cold and the wind was more menacing at night. I had to wrapped myself with the thick scarf to avoid freezing.

We did not enter Amsterdam Casino as it had entrance fee even we just wanted to visit or stroll around to have a look. Hence, we went to the shops nearby and visited Hard Rock Cafe. My dad and I was consistently controlled the shopping spree over here. Haha, the shirts, tops, jackets were beautiful, yet we had to be thrifty for the next destination.

So, a window-shopping and sight-seeing at Hard Rock Cafe. Anyway, I had bought myself a pair of Merrell hiking sport shoes with discount price offered.

A wonderful experience I had in Netherlands.
The extensive cycle trip from South Holland to the North was really amazing.
The final day in Amsterdam ended and we will touch down another country on the next day.
Stay tuned for my blog post about the country which fulls of Romance!

Europe Trip- Netherlands | Scheveningen

16th November 2014

Scheveningen which was renowned as one of the best tourists attractions in Den Haag. I was surprised that Den Haag has beach nearby. The sunset wasn't able to be seen as the sky was cloudy.

Europe Trip- Netherlands | Den Haag

16th November 2014

The Hague or Den Haag is the capital city of the province of South Holland. Den Haag is about 20 minutes from Rotterdam. Den Haag itself is a very interesting city whereby the country is ruled from Den Haag while Amsterdam remains as the capital. Notably to mention that this City of Peace and Justice was actually grew around the castle i.e. Knight's Hall with very low population.

Our first stop was Paleis Noordeinde, one of the three official palaces of the Dutch royal family and it has been used as the "working palace" for King Willem-Alexander since 2013.On the opposite side of the Royal Palace, Royal Stables and some gardens were opened for public.

The shopping street was just next to the Paleis Noordeinde/ Royal Palace in Den Haag.
Compared to other countries' palace, Paleis Noordeinde which is situated on The Hague's shopping streets making the residents to have chance to meet the Royal member one day here.

The next destination was Ridderzaal or the Knight's Hall. It's also named as Great Hall. Many foreign embassies and government ministries were found along the journey towards Ridderzaal. Ridderzaal is currently used for official royal receptions, and inter-parliamentary conferences. Ridderzaal is comprised of Hall of Knights, the Binnenhof (inner court) and Buitenhof (outer court).

Peace Palace

Souce from Denhaag.com:

Peace Palace is the seat of the International Court of Justice, the only judicial organ of the United Nations not located in New York, and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. This beautiful Neo-Renaissance style building, which was actually the winning design of an architecture competition in the early nineteen hundreds, and the organisations it houses have given The Hague worldwide recognition as the internationale city of Peace and Justice.
