I put the monkey bread in the oven, made coffee, found the video camera and started cleaning up the kitchen a little because what else can you do when you're just waiting for your kids to wake up?! After 8:00 I heard Max in the living room. He was looking at all the cat stuff and had a funny expression on his face. I read him the note from Santa. His eyes got HUGE and he started to run to the garage. I told him he had to wake Grant up first. It took Grant about 4 seconds to process the information that Santa had been here and there were cats. They bolted to the garage and found a big kennel with 2 overly terrified cats inside. Max reached to unlock the kennel door and one of the cats let out this hideous hiss and swiped at the door. The boys quickly stepped back and we agreed that maybe we should leave the cats alone for a while and open stockings.
This is Max right after the cat assault incident.
Grant with his best fake smile.
Jack just liked to help other people open their presents. I don't know if he ever realized any of it was actually for him.
Max wrapped Adam's present all by himself (it was a crock pot).

yes. we most definitely have a fireplace. the proof is in the little bits of wood all over the living room from the boys hauling in logs.
