Germany

Image
This is in my opinion the nicest postcard from Germany I have ever received. I bought this postcard several years ago when I visited Dresden. From some reason I returned back home with this postcard unwritten which I was later feeling pity. Later I asked Marcel from Germany to send me this postcard written and stamped which made this postcard much more valuable for me :-). Thank you Marcel very much! :-)

Israel - Caesarea

These both amazing postcards arrived from Debora. The first one shows aqueduct which brought water to the old city of Caesarea. Herod built the aqueduct in the first century BC. Later in the second century AD it was expanded by the Romans.

ImageThe second postcard shows the Roman Theather of Caesarea. It was built by Herod and it's notable for its modern use for concerts, its fine view of the sea and the inscription discovered here that mentions Pontius Pilate.

Israel - The Dead Sea

The Dead see has that big amount of salt that it's not possible for any sea-creature to live under that sea. In Israel they call it "Sea of Salt". This postcard shows the salt crystals at the Dead sea.
Thank you Aviv for this fantastic postcard!

New Zealand

The Moeraki boulders are scattered along the beach at Moeraki. The soft mudstone containing the boulders was raised from the seabed around 15 million years ago, and the boulders are being exposed as the cliffs are eroded by the sea.

Czech republic

Terezín memorial - Terezín was established at the end of the 18th century as a fortress; still surrounded by its massive ramparts, the town lies at the confluence of the rivers Labe (Elbe) and Ohře (Eger). The Main and Small Fortresses at Terezín, although the modern for their period, gradually became obsolete, and having lost their military function fell into disregard. Only in the relatively recent past has Terezín once again entered the worlds public consciousness as a tragic symbol of the sufferings of the tens of thousands of innocent people who died here during the Nazi occupation of their homeland.
ImageChateau Duchcov - Giacomo Casanova lived here for past 13 years of his life and worked here as a librarian.
