covered vs not covered

So I'm trying to figure out if heparin is a covered drug under my prescription plan has proved to be quite a hassle.
This may get interesting.
Turns out my insurance will cover all diagnostic testing for IF and RPL, with some out of pocket expenses and deductibles.. some things are covered 100%, like labwork (which is good, I've had many 100's of dollars of lab tests done this month).

I got a chance to talk to a mom (who has 10 bio kids, most of them while fostering!) at our adoption agency Christmas party about being pregnant and having babies while fostering, and she had nothing but good things to say about it. Reassured me that our thinking is right, that it's a great opportunity for our kids to feel even more like a part of the family, when they become brothers or sisters all over again! Also gives great opportunity for our kids to learn more about what it means to be a part of a family, that there are things that they will be expected to help with, just like any other family.. I am excited by the prospect and hope of being able to give my kids a brother or sister eventually, and what that will mean to them, to know that even though they didn't come from my tummy, that they are just as much a brother/sister to the baby as a bio-kid would be. So exciting!

Hi -- I came over from LFCA and am delighted you have an answer to your RPL, in addition to having the opportunity to foster. I'm not sure if this helps since I realize "cheap" can be relative, but heparin is pretty cheap -- I had it prescribed for one cycle (I was borderline on APAs and one RE said I needed the heparin, though in fact I didn't use it on the one successful cycle I had -- but enough about me). Lovenox, which is a brand-name version, is not cheap, but heparin is. And surely once you are pregnant the heparin would be covered, as important to your pre-natal care?

Best wishes to you both.

Yeah, I'll bet it will be covered when pregnant.. I am hoping so!
I have to take it from 2 or 3 dpo though, but we're working on getting it covered.. Still have another month to work on it! Phew!!
headed over to your blog in the morning. thanks for the words of support!

Hi..just visiting from LFCA. I have a similiar history. One dd born in 2004 (pre eclampsia at the end of the pregnancy). M/C in June 2007 with D&C, m/c in September, OB finds MTHFR single mutation, m/c in December. See an RE, more bloodwork, saline u/s, endo biopsy to check lining. Found LPD which lead to progesterone from ovulation til BFN.

BA, FA, progesterone, multi vitamin and lots of prayers resulted in dd #2 in November 2008. Sounds like you are on the right track. Prayers for you and yours.
