'Tenmaku no Jaadugar' Unveils Main Staff, Teaser Promo for Summer 2026

The official website of the Tenmaku no Jaadugar (Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia) television anime revealed the main staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promotional video on Saturday.

Produced by Science SARU, the anime series adapting Tomato Soup's historical drama manga will premiere on TV Asahi and its 24 affiliates' IMAnimation programming block and BS Asahi in July 2026.

Tomato Soup launched the manga in Souffle magazine in September 2021 and began concurrent serialization in Mystery Bonita on March 6. Akita Shoten published the fifth volume on April 16.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English in October 2024 and released the second volume on November 25.

Science Saru and this show looks like a match made in heaven. I'm not usually interested in more historical anime, but this looks amazing. I might just have to give it a try.

Forgot about this one for a minute, the trailer has me giddy. Just wow. Science SARU can't stop hitting it out of the park.

Easily one of my more anticipated shows for next year, outside of the GITS remake, which is also funnily enough being done by Saru. We need more art style creativity in this medium, and this show/mangaka is doing that. The coloring is gorgeous.

Choosing the director and studio which created Heike Monogatari was just the perfect choice and I have good faith this should be a cracking show.

Having read the first two volumes, which I must say that I absolutely loved, I am eagerly looking forward for this and suspect it may be my favourite show of 2026. Though Kore Kaite Shine will surely be a close contender if well executed.
The animation and art direction look so well refined and has the piquancy and pizazz which is a Science SARU staple of course.

I was selfishly thinking that the huge success of DanDaDan would lead to the studios creative output being spoiled and dulled but this short preview has certainly reassured me.

Well, this gives a little more clarity on why the Dandadan SE3 release is in 2027 lol Man, Science SARU is popping tf off so much, bless all the staff for their hard work and crazy talent. I will watch this one ^U^

From the trailer alone, this feels like the first anime that genuinely explores Islamic culture rather than just referencing it. That alone makes it a must-watch.
