I'm Nana again!!!

Megan finally had the baby today.  She called me about 3:00 this morning to come be with Emily while she and Denny went to the birthing center.  They got to the birthing center about 5:00 and she was already 7 centimeters.  So we thought it wouldn't take long before he was born.  Denny called me at 9:00 and said they had been sent to a hospital in an ambulance that there were some complications.
Finally Megan called me a little after 11:00 from recovery.  They had to do a c-section, but Megan did great considering she wanted it to be a natural birth.
They still have decided on a name, but I call him a sumo wrestler.  He weighed 10lbs and 3 ounces and is 22 inches long.  He won't wear any of his newborn clothing.  The pediatric Doctor on-call said he looks to be two months old already.
But thankfully Mom and baby are doing great.
I still can't get any pictures to upload so if you have a facebook you can find some on there that I shared from Megan's page..   Just email me if you need to.

It's a ...........................

Image
Amongst Linda being released from the hospital and coming to live with us, Christmas and New Year's, and the kids being out of school for almost three weeks.  I had forgotten to blog about some very exciting news.

Emily is going to have a little brother.  Megan and Denny is expecting their second child at the end of May.

It doesn't seem like it's been that long since Emily was a baby, but she will be 2 in March.

ImageWe're all so excited and can't wait to spoil him just like we have  Emily.  But as they say the best part of being a grandparent is spoiling them and then sending them home.

Happy Birthday Denny !!!!!!

Today is my son-in-law Denny's Birthday. As parents we worry about who our children will one day marry. But I wouldn't want anyone different for Megan to have married. Denny is so good to her and Emily. He was right by her side the seventeen hours we were at the birthing center waiting for Emily to be born. And we just found out Friday night that he even cut the cord. Not many men has the stomach to do that nor the patience. And if you know Denny he is an outdoor person, so it took a lot for him to stay in that little room for that long, but he did out of love for his wife and daughter. He works hard and provides everything they could possible need. And I'm sure the older Emily gets there will be a lot of wants that he gives also. I told Megan I hope she realizes how good of a man she has. The times I have been over there this past week, he has been right there for her. Getting what she needed before she ever had to ask. So Megan please don't ever take him for granted, because as you know there is a lot worse out there.

Denny, Happy Birthday, we love you, and thank you for being so good to Megan and Emily. And for being the best son-in-law a Mom could possibly have.
