Meet my newest style, the 'Gabrielle' top

I wanted to create a top that could be worn with a scoop neck and with a higher boatneck. I have had many requests for a short sleeved 'Frankie' top and I think I have come up with a great wardrobe staple.

The 'Gabrielle' top is made from 60% Polyester/32% Viscose/8% Spandex and has the longer length like the 'Frankie' top.

This top can be worn comfortably both ways and also makes a great maternity and post-natal top.

I have made the first two colourways in plain black and in black & white stripe and am introducing this style at the special price of $60 until Boxing Day (online only).

Each colourway is limited and is available from size 8 up to size 22.

Please don't hesitate to email me should you have any questions.

This week's skirt special!

Image

Hello! I usually post special offers on my Facebook page, but I am increasingly being told by my customers that they do not have a Facebook page, so I will try and post on my blog too.

For $65 + $10 shipping, you can choose one of the above fabrics for a skirt in the same style as the skirt pictured below.

The finished length is 53cm and it has a button and zipper closure in the centre back.

To order, please send an email to: [email protected]

Have a lovely week!

Limited edition 'Rocker Girl Jane' dress in Midnight Rose

Image

How this dress came about has a cute story behind it. I bought a roll of this cotton sateen rose print fabric in November 2010. I did'nt get around to making the intended dresses as other work had to be done first.

So, the dress was going to have capped sleeves, a full skirt and boat neck bodice. My friend Joy, who also runs a vintage inspired clothing label and also happens to share my birthday, made the same dress using the same fabric and neither of us knew we had the same roll of fabric or our intentions for how we were going to use it.

Instead, I have turned the roll of beautiful fabric, which I have named the print Midnight Rose into 12 'Rocker Girl Jane' dresses.

They are fully lined using cream coloured lining and come with a fabric covered belt in black for a little contrast.

Available in size 10, 12 and 14 you can buy one from my online store, Darling Central in the ACT, Thread Den and I Dream A Highway in Victoria.

"May I have straps with that dress please?"

Image
The answer is YES. Well, in most cases. When Sean wanted to buy his gorgeous girlfriend Yani a Peta Pledger dress for her birthday, the one request he had was that she did'nt want a strapless dress.

Yani chose the Antique Pink Hawaiian Bark Cloth 'Lucky Diamonds' dress and I made it with removable straps.

For an additional fee of AUD$10, I can turn any of my strapless dress designs into a dress with button on-removable straps.

And remember that all custom made dresses have the option of sewn in or removable straps, providing the design allows for it.

Curious about the custom made side of Peta Pledger?

Image

If you have been wondering why I have'nt added any new designs to my online store lately, it's because all of my time has been taken up by two things. The first one is being a mum and the second thing is custom made dress orders.

The 'Peta Pledger' label comprises of a small clothing label, but is primarily a made to measure service. As I handmake each garment myself, I have had very little time to devote to the label...but with a bit of extra hard work and luck, that will start to change soon!

I bumped into Justine, the editor of MixTape zine at the Melbourne International Film Festival earlier this year, and after a quick chat about what I was up to, Justine thought that some people may be interested about the processes involved in getting a custom made garment.

You can read the article in the latest issue of MixTape zine and it is available from here.

Pretty in Pink Angelique

Image
My latest creation is a one of a kind 'Angelique' dress made from Pink and White check in Poly/Viscose.

The skirt is full circle and is photographed with an underskirt underneath. This dress is unlined with just a top facing and has an invisible zip in the side seam.

As with my other 'Angelique' dresses, the shoulder straps are made from velvet ribbon and the dress comes with a 2" wide fabric covered belt.

This dress is a size 10 and is available from Thread Den in North Melbourne.
